It had been about 2 weeks since Donnie had given me my last report on my ribs and now. . . They're as good as new!
I jumped out of bed and did some stretches, testing my ribs, no pain no aching nothing. It was like I never broke them! I whipped the door open and ran outside. I ran forwards and jumped into the air. "Whooooo!" I cheered as I flew in circles all around the lair. I don't know how I'd survive without my ability to fly, it'd become a critical part of my life.
I flew all around the house in and out of the kitchens and lounge area, I noticed Donnie Leo and Mikey giving me quizzical looks. I didn't care what they thought. I had my flight back!
I then changed course to the dojo. I closed my eyes and flew round the room. Unaware that there was someone else in there.
I flew in circle and all over the dojo. "WATCH OUT?!" I heard a yell in front of me. I opened my eyes but before I could assess the situation and stop myself, I crashed into Raphael.
We went rolling and rolling until we hit the wall. Raph laid against the wall on his back, while I landed on top. I winced in pain and lifted my head up to bring my eyes to his emerald green ones. I stared for a little bit before getting up off of him.
"Sorry sorry sorry Raph!" I apologised while getting up. "It's ok Cas." He replied. I held a hand out for him and he took it. "A little excited aren't we?" He joked smirking at me. I laughed nervously and rubbed the back of my neck. "Maybe just a little." He smiled at me and left the dojo. I decided to stay and brush up on my kunai skills. Being partially paralysed by a broken rib restricted me from using my kunai, well, it restricted me from all martial arts really. I hadn't used my kunai in ages.
I closed my eyes and made my kunai levitate from my room to the dojo. I dropped it into my hand and embraced the cold feeling of the metal chain. How I missed my baby.
I started off by swinging it around in loops on my left and right, and then doing figure of eights with my weapon. It moved flawlessly, in perfect speed, motion and timing. I still had it! I then shot the kunai out in front of me, the pointy end piercing through the air. I pulled the chain back before the kunai could hit and damage the wall.
I rolled the chain back, around my arm. "MIKEY SHUT UP!!" I heard a voice yell throughout the entire lair. I quickly hooked my kunai around my belt and ran into the living area.
When I exited the dojo I saw Mikey making faces at Raph while Leo and Donnie worked together to try and keep Raph from tearing Mikey apart. "Big baby has anger issues!" Mikey sang in a mocking voice. "I DO NOT!" Raph shouted back.
My eyes widened at what I saw next. Raph had lost it. He turned around and shoved Donnie off right before punching Leo in the stomach. Both turtles fell back and lost their grip on their raging brother. Raphael turned back around and Mikeys face turned from a happy playful one to a shocked and scared one. Raph chased Mikey all over the place.
"GET YOUR SHELL BACK HERE NOW!" Raph yelled from across the room. "Aahhhh ah ah ahhhhh!!!" Mikey screamed, running all over the place. I had to do something or else this was going to get very out of hand.
I flew and caught up to Raph, I grabbed his left arm and tried to tug him back and slow him down. It was pointless, I was nothing compared to his strength. He dragged me along like I was non existent.
"Raph!! Stop! Calm down!" I shouted while trying to pull him back. He stopped running and turned around before shoving me off of him. I fell on my butt and hit the floor, grunting a little when I did.
I looked up at him and all I saw was shock horror on his face. He seemed to hesitate to help me up, flinching, as if he couldn't decide whether to help me up or not. In the end he stormed off into his room and slammed the door shut. It didn't bother me a lot, he was in a bad mood, which was partly Mikeys fault. I didn't expect him to be a gentlemen and help me up.
After he'd left I got up and brushed myself down. "Yo! Dudette, you ok?" Mikey asked concerned. "Yeh, I'm fine Mikey." I said, a little too coldly than I'd wanted. Mikey looked taken aback and I knew why. "Sorry Mikey. I didn't mean to be rude. But you know Raph has a temper." I apologised. "Yeh, but I was just having fun!" He whined. I nodded in understanding.
I walked off to Raphs room, passing Leo and Donnie on the way, I assured them I was alright and continued to his room. I reached his door and gently knocked.
No answer.
"Raph? Can I come in?" I timidly asked. Still no answer. I decided to bite the bullet and enter. I slowly opened the door and peeked my head in. Inside I noticed Raph, standing in the middle of his room punching and kicking the air, over and over again. As if he were trying to perfect a move. I walked in and shut the door behind me, he payed no attention to my being there.
"Hey Raph, you right?" I asked quietly. He continued attacking the air. I sighed and sat on his bed for a little, waiting for him to cool off. People dealt with anger and rage in many different ways, listening to music, drawing, reading, talking to others, being alone. Perhaps for Raph it was fighting, maybe it drew him out of the real world where his problems lay. Me? That's a little different. I try my best to stay as calm as I can, all the time. If I lose it and give in to the rage, my powers can get out of hand. My emotions and powers are somewhat, linked.
I sat on his bed for a little while longer. Then I got bored, noticing that Raph wasn't calming down at all. He still punched the air with that same raging look in his emerald eyes. I stood up and walked closer to him.
"Hey, I told Mikey off." I laughed lightly, trying to lighten up the mood. He continued ignoring me. I was getting a little irritated with his behaviour but kept my cool.
"Hey, you wanna talk about it? I'm a good listener." I sang, trying to get some response. Well, I got my wish. He spun around to face me. The rage in his eyes was unexplainable. He grabbed my arm and spun me around holding my arm behind my back, tightly. He then kicked me in the back of my knee making me fall to the ground, to finish off, he kicked me in my stomach and sent me rolling towards his door. That was some response.
"Can't my silence explain enough that I don't want to talk?!" He shouted at me. I winced in pain as I held my stomach. "Seriously, I thought you were smart! Obviously not!" He insulted. Something happened, as soon as the words left his mouth something inside me instantly snapped. I staggered to my feet.
"Fine! I don't even care!" I shouted, not knowing what to say. After that I flew out of his room and towards the turnstiles and left for the manhole cover.
"Cassandra wait!!!" I heard a faint voice back from the lair. Raphael.
I flew to the roofs and made sure I was a distance far enough that the turtles wouldn't find me. I sat down as a few tears started to roll down my cheeks.
"I-I thought Raph and I were. . . had . . . " I choked between sobs. The rage, sadness, feeling of being alone once again and betrayal all put together was too much, way, too much.
My sobbing ceased and my face was straight, showing no emotion. I had lost myself in the mixture of all the emotions.
I was lost.
