*Angel's PoV*

I stood at the edge of the rooft-top, my arms spread wide, face turned to the stars sparkling above my head. The wind blew across my face, brushing back my purple-streaked bangs. I took a deep breath, leaning slightly over the edge.

I stepped forward, letting myself fall.

I shivered at the cold wind and stomach-dropping sensation of falling. When I was only feet above the hard ground, I gave an exhilarated laugh, flinging my wings wide. With a single flap, I was soaring up into the night sky.

My wings sparkled in the streetlights, silvery-white feathers reflecting a rainbow of colors. I laughed, flying in dizzy circles. I felt so light, so free...

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

I groaned, getting up to turn off my alarm clock. My back itched where my wings were once connected, between my shoulders. I miss having wings terribly. Every night, it's the same dreams. Dreams of flying.

I got up and slowly dragged myself out of bed, bidding my pillow a reluctnant farewell. I grabbed my Hello Kitty snuggie, quickly slipping it on to keep myself from freezing to death. I shuffled into the kitchen like some kind of half-dead creature.

"Good Morning." My twin sister, Lacey, yawned. We have similar facial features, are both pretty pale, and both have naturally blonde hair. Of course, neither of us kept it that way. Lacey's hair is black, with long layers and blonde coontail stripes in her bangs. Mine is blonde, with a side fringe and  purple streaks. Our eyes are different two: Hers a warm brown, mine a vivid blue.

"Here." Lacey set a plate of freshly toasted Poptarts in front of me. "Eat up. You've got a big day today."

"Oh yeah..." I took a thoughtful bite of a Cinnimon Brown Sugar flavored Poptart. "Our first show."

See, Lacey and I are in a band. Well, it's really just three girls with instruments, but whatever. I'm the vocalist and also the bass player (yes, it's very hard to do both, but we didn't exactly have a choice), Lacey is the drummer and does bakcup vocals, and our friend Rose is the lead guitarist, plus she does some pretty impressive scream vocals.

The band is called Outcast Angels. It's an inside joke between us and Rose, since we're fallen angels, and her demon parents (yes, Rose is a demon) kicked her out for not being "demonic" enough.

Speaking of Rose, she chose that moment to enter through our window. (Yeah, she gets to do that, becasue she lives in the apartment directly above us.) Rose is really pretty, with deep brown eyes, and skin slightly less pale than mine and Lacey's. Her hair is bright red, with lots of layering, dramatic side bangs, and black streaks.

"My hoes!" She exclaimed, entering the kitchen.

"My baby mama!" I ran over and jumped on her, wrapping my arms and legs around her in a hug.

(Just to be clear, we're not lesbian. We just happen to be really, really good friends. Like, Rose is like the sister Lace and I never had.)

"Girl." Lacey yanked Rose away from me and hugged her. "Back off my woman."

We all giggled, then sat down and started eating breakfast. When we finished, Lacey jumped up, slightly hyper from her gigantic cup of coffee.

"OFF TO THE CLOSET! WE MUST LOOK SUPER SEXY FOR THE SHOW TONIGHT." She grabbed me and Rose and ran into her bedroom.

We literally spent almost three hours trying on dozens of different outfits, comparing and giving each other advice, before we finally had the perfect things. (Lacey: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=84780492, Rose: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=84780919 , Me: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=84782031 )

After that, it took another four hours to figure out how to do our hair and makeup. We all ended up straightening our hair, and Lacey and Rose both teased theirs a little. Our makeup was more complicated. Lacey had black eyeliner, shimmery dark purple eyeshadow, and tons of mascara. Rose had thick, winged out black eyeliner and only a tiny bit of mascara. And I had thick black eyeliner, smudged to perfection, and almost as much mascara as Lacey.

Finally, we were ready. We all piled into Rose's black Jeep, and then we were off to the place where we were doing our show.

If only we'd known we were never coming back.
