The next morning I was awoken to my phone ringing.  "Hello." I said answering the phone.
"Hey essay (short for Odessa) I wanted to call you to let you k wo that I made it here fine" Sean said from the other end.
"Okay that's good." I said with a yawn at the end.
"Did I wake you up?" Sean asked.
"Yeah it's only 7:30 here." I said looming at the clock.
"Okay, well I should let you go because you have to get ready for work." Sean says.
"Thanks for reminding me. I don't know what I would do without you." I said.
"You'd probably lose you job." He says chuckling.
"Haha very funny Sean, well I got to go call you later." I said.
"Okay bye." He says right before I hear a beep meaning he hung up. I got up and went to my room to get ready for work. I tried to hurry, but when I saw that I was already late I decided to take my time.
When I got there the manager was already there waiting for me. "My office now Boswell " he growled. I followed him back to his office. Before I could say anything he said " you're fired. Now turn in your name tag." I didn't say anything or try to explain myself. I slammed my name tag down on his desk and walked out.
I didn't want to go home so I went to the only place that I knew could distract me, the street races. On my way there I stopped by my house to drop off my motorcycle and get my car. I could already feel myself starting to relax being the wheel. This was definitely like my second home.
The races we're packed as always. Some people we're watching out for cops. While others were leaning against their cars or showing off what they had under their hood. Girls were walking around in clothes that barely covered their bodies. The guys as usual we're checking out and wolf whistling at every girl that walked past them. The guys here are pigs, but they're pretty good behind the wheel.
Race after race goes by, people win and people lose. Finally I'm up. I have to race against a guy name Jessi. We'are racing for pink slips. Jessi seems really conceated because he keeps asking me if I'm ready to lose, but the real question is, is he ready to lose to me.
The race was a close one at the end, but I was able to pull ahead jut in time to win the race. To say Jessi was mad that he lost would be an understatement. He told me that I would pay for beating him. At that moment in time I didn't take him seriously.
