''Gemma, please, stop crying, please, I'm begging you'' Jeremy grabbed my face and stared into my forlorn eyes.

''I can't! Mum and dad don't love us, they never did!'' I screamed at him, as loud as my thirteen year old voice would've let me. His face dropped and he let out a sigh.

''Everything will be okay, I promise Gemmy. You know I keep my promises'' he eventually said, his voice soft and calm and his eyes just as dismal as mine. He stuck out his pinky and wrapped it around mine. ''I pinky-promise you''

''What are you still doing here?'' our mother spit out as she walked into my room.

''Get out, you worthless pieces of shit!'' she said, her voice louder and sharper this time. She stood in the door way and pointed her hand forward with her index finger out, hinting us to leave.

''Give us some time you fucking bitch!'' I heard Jeremy yell at her then pushed her back and shut the door. He walked back to me and kneeled in front of me.

''We'll work things out'' he whispered and hugged me as tight as he could. I wiped my eyes when he let go and we walked out of hell together, hand in hand.

''Oh look who's finally leaving, took you eighteen years to finally do the right thing!'' our dad shouted from the living room. Neither of us said anything.''Hope both of you die in a hole!'' he added and went back to reading his newspaper. Jeremy held my hand tighter and his eye twitched. I knew what it meant; things were about to go down in the Scott's house.

Jeremy couldn't hold himself back. I tried to pull him out of the house, but it didn't work. An eighteen year old is much more powerful than a thirteen year old that can barely kick a ball. His fist made contact with our father's cheek, nose and the other cheek. The blood poured out of our father's nose almost immediately.

''What the fuck is wrong with you?'' I heard our father yell at him, his hands on his face, blocking his nose to try and stop the nose bleed.

''Nothing, but there is something wrong with you Adam'' Jeremy pointed at our dad then at our mum and continued. ''And you Maggie! You are our parents, you're suppose to love us and support us! But both of you are just a piece of fucking shit!''

He stormed back to me and just before we left, he said his final words. ''One more thing. Maggie- Excuse me, ''mother'', is sleeping with some guy named Greg for, hmm, 2 months. Damn, that guy makes her orgasm three times per session. I think you should start practising your skills in bed Adam if you want to keep that slut with you. Alright, bye suckers!''

Then we left.

For a couple of months we lived with Jeremy's friend, Lucas. As soon as Jeremy got a job, and enough money to buy a house and support us, we moved out from Lucas' apartment into our own little bubble.

My eyes opened in an instant. I stared at my ceiling with all sorts of thoughts running through my mind, but the main one was our parents. I used to wonder if they ever even loved us, why they hated us so much, what did we do to them to deserve all that disrespect from them? But I stopped, I knew that we would never go back to them, therefore they're not a part of me anymore, just another pair of strangers. I learned to put things in my mind in little boxes, keep the most important ones, and throw away the not needed ones. Can you tell in which box my parents were? No? Should I tell you?

Well, both. You see, they're in that part of my mind that is abandoned, not cared about and forgotten, but also in the main one, the one where a lot of things takes place. No matter how much you hate your parents, no matter how much they have hurt you, they will always be in your mind; you can't do anything about it.
