Upon seeing Lucy's injured body alone was able to make Natsu's body to be filled with guilt and anger towards himself, but the part that really make Natsu burst into tears was when Lucy's tried to smile despite her injuries and mumble the words "I'm sorry", Natsu said to himself that he should be the one that said that, he is the one who make Lucy suffer, so why would Lucy apologize, what for? and why? Natsu's mind was full of question, he can't even think straight.

From that moment, Natsu was fed up, he wants to suicide, because on that particular time, that is the only way he can think to atone his self from the things that he had done to Lucy, his partner, friend and love of his life.

As the medic's was going out of sight, Natsu was full of emotions; guilt, anger, worried, betrayed; jealousy; lonely; sad and powerless, the thoughts on his mind was eating him, that it came to the point where he don't know what to feel anymore, tears are not stopping from pouring down, but his face was blank, no emotion can be seen, he is just staring at the seems. 

But within his heart, he wants to go beside Lucy, to take care of her, to hold her, and to comfort her, but he was hurt, ashamed and confuse, because just seeing Lucy being beaten by other was like a bullet to his heart, what's more if he is the one who beat her up, a bullet to his heart was an understatement, it feels like a cannon was shot through his chest.

Shock form what happened, Natsu was unable to move, he has no courage and energy to follow the medic corps that carried Lucy, the guilt he was feeling even anchored him down to the land giving him more reason to not go where Lucy is, for him, he has no right to see Lucy anymore, for him he is just someone who tried to kill his friend.

For Natsu, it his fault why Lucy was suffering and for that he must atone for it, for he cannot let that happen again, thus he pledge to himself that must kill himself so Lucy would not see him anymore and moreover will not be in danger anymore.

As the soldiers loosen their hold to Natsu, because the soldiers think that the captive has no intentions of running away, seeing the oppurtunity, Natsu tried to kill himself by piercing his heart with an edged stone he sees beside him, but fortunately the soldiers were quick enough, and was able to pin him down again.

With no hope of escaping, Natsu give in, and just cried loudly, saying Lucy's name over and over again.

The soldiers hold Natsu and are dragging him into their couch, so they can bring him into the jail, Natsu notice that his friend Happy was being treated, ans was starting to gain conscious, he felt a little relieved at least Happy was okay, and as for Sting, he was unconscious on the ground badly beaten, the medics are also curing him.

Just as the moment Natsu looked at the side where Lucy was being healed, blinding light envelope the sky, and huge explosion come before them, wide range destruction leave a big crater on the area, erasing every infrastructure on the diameter of explosion including the hospital where Lucy is.
