Jason's pov

I finished up a free concert at a park. I was walking around, meeting fans, just plain having fun when I looked over to a park bench where a woman sat. She was smoking hot!! I fix my hair a little and walk over. "Hi ma'am, did you see the show?" I ask. She smiles and nods. "It was a great show. Thank you." I smile and sit beside her. "I had fun doing it." I say. "Hey Sierra don't go up the slide!" She calls. Oh wait, she's got a kid. "Which one's yours?" I ask. "Well she's my sister. Her name's Sierra. She's a big fan." Sister. So that means she doesn't have a kid. Her sister was probably just in town for the concert. She calls her over and the little girl runs over. "Hey Sierra, ya want to meet Jason?" Her eyes get wide. "Wow, hi Jason. I'm such a big fan." She says. I smile. "What's your favorite song little gal?" "I love all of them but my favorite is wide open. Because it just proves that even with my disability I can do anything I put my mind to." She says. Disability? After she goes back to the playground, I talk to her. "What did she mean?" "Oh uh she's got autism. After mom passed away, I've been her sole provider." Oh jeez so she does take care of her. She is like the parent. "What's your name by the way?" "Miranda." She keeps her stare on the ground. I look away. "You okay?" I ask. She looks up at me. "You think Sierra's weird don't you?" My eyes go wide. "No I don't. I was just a little surprised. Most people don't care enough to take care of their younger siblings." "Really? You don't think she's a freak or anything?" "Of course not. She's a sweet little girl. I uh I want to... I think you should come by my house with her next week. I'll prove to you that I don't think that." Her eyes go wide. "Are you.... Asking me out?" "I think so." I mumble, looking away. Instantly I feel arms around my waist. I look back. She's hugging me. "Thanks." I smile and hug her back. "No problem. Maybe I'll even sing wide open for her." She smiles.

*one week later*

Am I really getting myself into this? A woman with a mentally disabled kid. I hope this doesn't backfire on me. I hear her in the driveway. "Sierra settle down or we're going home." "Okay." She mumbles. I open the door. "Come on in girls." Sierra runs in. "Jason, you aren't doing a girlfriend boyfriend thing are you?" I don't know yet. I shrug. "I don't want to put you through dealing with Sierra. I don't want to feel like a burden." She starts to cry. I grab her hands. "You aren't a burden. Don't say that." "Mama, why are you crying?" Sierra asks. "She doesn't know she's your sister?" I whisper. "Yes. She just likes calling me mama." She mumbles, her cheeks reddening. I smile. She's embarrassed and she looks so cute, blushing like that. I think I do want to make this work between us. Even if she has a kid with autism. I don't mind it. I hug her. "It's alright hun."

*later that night*

I hand the mic to Sierra. "She's young and the world's wide open!" She sings. I don't know what I was worried about. She's such a great kid. "Hey sweet girl, time to take your medicine." Mirnda says. She hands me the mic back. "Can we do another one, Mr. Jason, please please!" She begs, grabbing my pants leg. "Of course honey, now go take your medicine." She runs to Miranda where she gives her her medicine. "What song do you wanna sing next?"

*later*

Sierra fell asleep and Miranda carries her to the car. "That was so much fun. Thanks." "Yeah, I'd like to do it again sometime." I reply, holding the door open. She looks at me funny. "What's with that look?" "You're not asking me to be your girlfriend are you?" "Honey, I've already told you. I don't mind it." "It will start to bug you. I know it will." I sigh and shake my head. "You don't know me well enough to make that assumption." She turns around and I kiss her, closing the door in the process. My arms wrap around her waist, hers on my shoulders. When I finally break the kiss, we're both breathless. "Now... Do you... Believe me?" I force myself to say while getting lost in her angel like green eyes. She stares at me shocked, unable to answer. I smile and place my hand on her cheek thus kissing her again. Her hands tense into fists in surprise. "How about next Saturday, you, me, and Sierra. I'll take you guys out to dinner." "You really aren't freaked out?" I shake my head. "I'm really not. She's the sweetest little girl I've ever met. And she's not like a crazy fangirl either." She smiles. "Thank you." She whispers, hugging me. "No, thank you." She gets in her car. "I can't wait for Saturday." I say, waving. She smiles and waves then drives away.
