Jason's pov

I wake up, hearing crying. I'm confused. I walk down to Sierra's room and she's crying in her bed. "Baby girl, what's wrong?" She looks up quickly, her hands and eye twitching. She looks away from me which she hasn't done in forever. "Why does mommy leave? Does she hate me? It's because I'm different isn't it?" My eyes go wide and I quickly walk to her. "Sweetheart, nothin' is wrong with you. Don't think that way!" I gasp, holding her tight. "Please don't cry, it doesn't matter what she thinks. I love you and mama loves you, we're a nice little family and we don't need her." She cries against my chest and soon falls asleep.

Miranda's pov

Jason brings Sierra downstairs. He sets her down and she starts eating breakfast. "Jason, what's wrong?" I whisper. He sighs. "She's upset about her mom. She doesn't think she loves her and that's why she leaves.... And.... Well...." He glances back at her and runs his hand through his hair. "What is it?" "She's been having her ticks again." I sigh sadly. My poor baby girl. I hug Sierra. "Let's go to chuck e cheeses." I say, clapping my hands. She smiles, keeping her stare on the floor. Jason stares at her worriedly. We go there to get her mind off it. She seems perky but still avoiding eye contact and having ticks. Jason picks her up to put her in his truck and she tries to get away. Another tick. Not liking to be touched. I sigh worriedly and we drive home.

*later*

I lay my head against his chest. He rubs my back. "Thanks for tryin' anyway." I mumble, sighing. "I will figure out what to do. I'll fix her. I did it once and I can do it again." He says, using his stern voice. I smile and sit up, kissing him. "And to think, I tried to push you away." He smiles, his hands on my hips. "I wouldn't let you baby girl. I love you too much." "What would you do if you never met me?" I ask, staring into his gorgeous green eyes. "If I hadn't been so lucky I'd be shootin' pool in my bachelor pad, playin' bass in my cover band, restockin' up cold bud light for poker every Tuesday night." He sings a woman like you by Lee Brice. I just smiled and rolled my eyes. He chuckles. "But seriously. Alone and out there on the loose, well I'd be lookin' for a woman like you." He whispers, kissing me softly. "Do you really think you can fix my baby girl?" I whimper, close to tears. He smiles and rests a hand on my cheek. "I know I can. I will fix our baby girl. If it's the last thing I do." Tears fall down my cheeks and he wipes them away. "You are one kindhearted cowboy." I say as we kiss again.
