I walk into the living room, still a little shocked. The image of Alexander ripping Karen's body apart is still very clear in my head. He killed her. He really did kill her for me. I can't allow myself to feel guilty. Not now. Not when she's already dead. My wolf is proud of him. She feels protected and loved and those feelings are not helping me at all. My chest is hurting from the wounds but I can actually feel my wolf working on healing them.

"Why did you ask him to do that?"

I turn around and frown at a very angry Jake. Or sad? There are tears in his eyes but I don't know whether its from sadness or because he's just that angry. I guess that, in a way, they both mean the same thing. "Calm down, will you?"

"No!" He yells at me in disappointment. "How can you be so calm about this! You just killed her! You killed her, Leila! All she did was lose control of her wolf that's all!"

"Oh really? Well did she have to take it out on me? This is to show everyone of you that no one can boss me around. I do whatever I want whenever the hell I want to!" I yell back at him and wince in pain.

"And you!"

We both run around to see a furious Alexander with wearing only shorts. I actually wonder whether he has a wolf in charge of pants. I shake my head. This is not the time to wonder that. He is glaring at Jake as the growls keep escaping from his chest.

I notice for the first time that he has a tattoo on his right arm. They are just thick lines around his arm but that makes him look even more sexy.

I panic as he half runs to Jake but I quickly get in between them.

"You are not going to hurt him." I say looking up at him

His expression softens when he looks down at me but it's still dangerous. "Why are you defending him?"

"Because this wasn't Jake's fault."

"What are you talking about? You are hurt because he didn't protect you."

I shake my head. "Karen was the one that hurt me. Jake tried to stop her but she was too fast. Don't get Jake in this." I am trying to sound brave but there's a plead behind it.

I promised Jake wasn't going to get hurt and I am sticking to that promise. I touch Alex's chest softly. "Please."

He closes his eyes and shakes his head then walks away.

I sigh of relief and I feel Jake relax behind me.

"Wow, I really thought I was a dead man." Jake whispers behind me.

I roll my eyes at him. "You are welcome."

His expression is suddenly serious. "Sorry for yelling at you, Luna."

I shrug and regret it when I feel a shot of pain in my chest. "I am used to people yelling at me." I manage to say.

He nods once. "You should rest."

I shake my head. "I am not tired."

He half smiles. "Always so stubborn."

I smile up at him. "Thank you."

We share a laugh.

We settle in the couch and begin to watch a movie that I don't even know what the plot is about. My wolf is worried that Alexander walked away from us. Her worry is beginning to get contagious and I begin to worry myself. I keep eating chocolate to see if that makes it go away but it doesn't. What if he didn't want to kill Karen?

"He's in his office." Jake suddenly breaks the silence.

I actually feel myself get a little red. "I didn't ask you."
