So for round 5, I decided on the sound Dead Man Walking from the brilliant album Science and Faith.

The jail cell's floor is hard and cold. How long had I been laying here? Too long. The whole time I had been thinking about how I failed to save anyone. Everyone I had ever cared about it is either dead or in danger.

Something was different about today. The guard's were less brutal than usual. And when they came to give me my meal, the food actually looked appetizing compared to the usual slop they gave me everyday. And then it hit me.

I was going to die. They finally realized I have no information to give them and that I was no longer useful to them. At least they had the decency to give me a last meal.

My hands shake as I pick up the food. I didn't want to die. Not yet at least. I had so much to live for. I was going to do so much. But now it's all over.

I scarf down the food and I must admit, it wasn't terrible. I stand up and start to pace around the cell. Maybe I could try to escape? No, too many guards. But it was worth a shot. I am going to die anyways.

I hear the click of the cell opening and I attack the guard the moment he enters. He easily maneuvers me off of him and punches me square in the face. I clutch my face and feel the blood dribble down my chin.

He yanks me up and hand cuffs me in chains. So much for escaping. He leads me out of the cell that was my home for quite a while. I had lost track of the days. How long had it been? Weeks? Months? When you're trapped in a cell, you really do lose track of time.

He leads me outside and I smile. I am outside for the first time. The sun feels good against my skin. Even though I'm as good as dead, I get to at least be outside one last time.

"Tell me sir. How am I going to die?" I know he doesn't speak English, but at this point, I could care less.

"Gun shoot." He grunts.

I whistle lowly. "That's the best you could come up with? Ha, I'm surprised you guys haven't come up with something more painful."

He jabs me in the side with the butt of his gun. I bite my lip and glance at the ground.

"I really am a dead man walking," I whisper to myself. I start to laugh. I guess being in a prison cell wit no human contact can really drive a man mad.

A thump wakes me up from my daze. I look down to the floor and see the guard there surrounded by a pool of blood.

I see a girl standing in the corner, her gun raised.

"Jane?"

"Hurry up, we don't have much time."

"What are you doing here? I thought you would've been dead by now."

"No, now come on. We have to get out of here right now before someone notices that there's a dead guard on ground."

We run as fast as we can. I am weaker than I thought. We make it to the trees when I hear loud shouting and cheering.

"Jane, do you hear that?"

"What? Uh, no. Come on, we have to keep going."

"I know you're lying Jane. What aren't you telling me?" I look past the clearing and see the square where they were supposed to shoot me dead.

I squint to get a better look and see that there is, in fact someone there. Someone who is taking my place. My mind raced. They would know that it wasn't me. They would know. Unless...

I turn to Jane. "Jane. Who is down there right now?"

She shakes her head.

"Jane! Who is down there?"

Tears form in her eyes. "I'm so sorry. I tried to stop him, I really did. But I couldn't. I'm sorry but your brother is down there right now."

My eyes shine with horror. "No. He can't. He wouldn't. He..." I trial off and kick the ground hard.

"But he's down there for you. He's sacrificing himself so that you can live and save so many people. Please, we have to keep going. We-"

"No! This is all your fault. How could you let him do something so stupid! How could you! I thought I could trust you to help keep him safe!"

"It was the only way. He wanted to do it."

"Of course he wanted to do it! And it was your job to stop him from doing it!"

The shouting dies down and now it's just one voice. That same voice that I heard in the cell. I shut my eyes.

He speaks English but with a strong heavy accent. "Are you ready to die?" I hear him shout. "Maybe if you beg, I might think about it."

But my brother doesn't beg. He stands there in silence.

"No? Shoot him on my command!" He starts to count back from ten.

In the next few seconds, I don't think. I just start to run down the hill. Maybe I can stop it. I need to do something. Jane tackles me to the ground.

"Stop this. You need to stop this."

"I can't. He's my brother! I can't let him die too!"

"Listen to me. He died so that you can live. He loves you so much and here, he told me to give this to you." She hands me a small black stone wrapped around a string like a necklace. I remember giving him that. The day when dad died.

I clutch it in my hand and look back at him. He is looking right at me, his eyes not showing one ounce of fear.

"5..."

He gives me a small smile.

"4..."

His mouth starts to move. My heart breaks once I realize what he is saying. "I'm sorry."

"3..."

He mouths something else. "I love you."

I hold up the stone making the sunlight reflect off of it.

"2..."

I squeeze my eyes shut and cover my ears.

"1."

The shot is fired.
