The smell of fresh pine trees was the very first thing that I noticed walking into the woods. I look up to see Linxs standing upon a mound of rocks looking like she had found something.
I let out a sly chuckle "You're such a silly girl Linxs!" Her ears perked up and I began running towards the mound she was sitting upon. As I was running she began jumping back and forth waiting for me to get there.
I finally reached the rock mound and began running up it only to realize that there is a pit. Big enough to fit a city. Ironic thing is, there is a bunch of stone huts in the pit, long vacant.
It was clear to me that this used to be a civilization nothing fancy, just about eighty stone huts. There was peculiar hut that stood out to me. It was a long rectangular hut, covered in what looks like blood.
"Oh god." I pull out my boot knife and entered with caution. Four rooms were in the hut, Two kid rooms, a parents bedroom, and a kitchen. Nothing really stood out besides a couple dolls. Linxs had began sniffing the air as if she had got a hint of something.
She begins walking to the kitchen and sticks her nose on the rug and then there is a slight creak and I instantly knew. "What do we have here?" I pulled the rug off of the floor and saw a trap door. I began petting Linxs "You're such a good girl Linxs." She put her paw up like she wanted to shake. I couldn't help but laugh.
I pull up the trap door and climb into the basement. I pull out my flashlight and saw my breath "How strange, it doesn't feel cold." I start investigating my surroundings and see a gleam of light bounce off what looked like a bottle.
A green shimmering sparkle of light, I walk over to the bottle and pick it up now seeing there is a rolled up piece of paper inside the bottle. I pop open the lid and pull the paper out and un-roll it. I almost drop the paper and bottle in utter shock.
The map shows South America, looks like somewhere in Peru. I wipe off the dust from the bottom of the paper to see words. E- D--ado "Oh my god! We did it Linxs we found the map!" I run back to the ladder seeing Linxs waiting patiently above me. I climb up the ladder and Linxs begins licking my face.
"Ha-ha down girl."
I pull myself out of the basement and begin to head for the door when Linxs begins getting sketched out and starts sniffing the air. I head for the door and walk out, Linxs right behind me. I walk out a little ways, heading back to where I entered the pit. It's too quie- The sound of crunching leaves exploded directly behind me, a voice deep and deadly spoke.
"Give me the map and you won't get shot."
My heart stopped dead in its tracks and I wanted to go on a deadbolt run, but I couldn't.
