"I'm going to drive to my house to pack some stuff and tell my mother we are going camping, that sound good?"
Bucko had said with a sort of charm like tone. Oh god why do I have to fall for someone I just met?
"That works with me, but then we'll have to go to a friend of mines to get supplies."
"Alrighty then." He sounded pretty lenient
I look back at Linxs and start petting her. After about five minutes we pull up to a gorgeous looking house with two cars out front. My eyes widen.
"This is your house?"
Bucko let's out a little laugh
"Yes, yes it is."
"It's lovely." I was star struck.
We pull into the driveway, and to the right of the mustang stands a beautiful Weeping willow tree, there was a hanging garden hanging in front of the house, each pot was filled with beautiful pink, red, and white chamilias.
I let Linxs out of the car as we head toward a big wooden door under an arch, when Bucko stops us.
"I really hope you don't mind meeting my parents, they can be a little... Odd at times." Bucko seemed a little shy. They can't be to bad right?
"I'm sure they're lovely." But then again... How could I know what a loving family is. It's been so long without them.
"But before we go in, I have one question."
"Shoot for it." I had looked him dead in the eye.
"How are we supposed to get to South America?"
"Simple." I had said "Boat, or Plane?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why do you think we have to stop at my buddys house?"
He looked confused and tried to answer the question, but he failed.
"She has connections to just about anywhere. Her father was military, so it's rather quite easy to get survivalistic equipment, and other essentials such as boat passes, plane tickets, and even helicopter flights through out the US."
Bucko looked stunned.
"Well let's not hold off on the whole meeting the parents thing." That probably sounded so stupid.
"You're right."
Bucko opened the wooden door, a brisk wave of warm Strawberry pie filled my nostrils. I remember when mom used to make that...
Linxs noticed that I had smelt the pie and she knew it was bringing up flashbacks. She began licking my hand trying to comfort me.
"It's okay girl... "She let out a sigh whimper. "I miss her too."
We walked into the house and a graceful woman wearing a polka dot dress, red buttons on white background. This woman had some class.
She greeted me with a hug. Shocked I had froze for a minute.
"Oh I'm terribly sorry, I just like to meet all of Bucko's friends with a friendly hug."
Her voice was a perfect harmony, I noticed Bucko had went from light tan to cherry red within a few seconds.
"Mom, this is Shag, Shag this is my mom Alestial."
"What a elegant name madam."
The woman looked me in the eyes.
"Parlez-Vous Français ? "
I looked right back at her.
"Oui madam, comment allez-vous?"
She did a small curtsy with her dress.
"Je suis bien M'sieur Shag."
Bucko eyed the both of us with confusion.
"Uh translate please?"
I chuckled.
"She asked if I spoke French, so I said yes. So I asked how she was, and she replied with-"
"I am good." Alestial had said.
"Well I guess that solves my question. Now mom, I have a question."
The woman goes a little faint.
"Yes dear?"
Bucko waits just a second. "Is it alright if me and Shag go camping for a week?"
Alestial thinks for a moment.
"Well I don't see why not, sure. "
Bucko wraps his arms around his mom.
"Thanks mom, love ya."
I feel a sudden tug at my heart.
"I'll go pack." Bucko says.
Linxs had already began licking my hand like she needed to use the bathroom.
"Alrighty, I'll go take Linxs for a walk around real quick so she can use the bathroom." before I go outside the woman stops me.
"Would you like some strawberry pie when you get back?"
I hesitate.
"I would absolutely love some."
A smile goes across her face.
"It smells wonderful. By the way, you have a lovely hanging garden, it reminds me of the hanging gardens of Babylon." I told Alestial.
"Merci M'sieur! You're such a gentleman." Alestial said as she walked back to the kitchen.
As soon as I'm outside all the pain in my heart released and tears began streaming down my face. Why does this have to hurt so bad. Me and Linxs walked a ways and I dropped into a bed of nearby grass and just lost it. The sound of my mother's voice haunting my mind.
"It will be okay Shag, please be careful. I love you." Mom please don't go, please don't leave me I can't do it!"
I was loosing it, I thought the flashbacks would stop. Linxs sat next me trying to pull me out of my flashback with her sweet whimper.
"I'm so sorry Linxs. "
She let out a whining howl that made my heart ache. "I miss her too girl."
I felt the flashback finally subside.
I wrapped my arms around Linxs "I'm sorry Linxs." I stand up and wipe away the tears. "Let's go get some pie before we leave alright?" She stands up and wags her tail vigorously.
We walk back to Buckos house, and I go to knock on the door but I hesitate and realize I said I was going to be right back. I open the door to see Bucko walking down the stairs with a bag.
"You ready." I ask
"Almost, just give me a second."
Alestial noticed I came in and gave me a piece of pie.
"Thank you so much, it looks splendid."
I take a bite and just like a bomb, the flavor explodes in my mouth. I try to resist the urge to not let out a moan but it accidentally slips and Bucko rolls his eyes then looks me dead in the eyes.
"That pie is as good as sex I'm guessing?" Bucko bursts out laughing which causes me blush.
"Oh stop it Buck!" Alestial said in a playful tone.
"Here Linxs." I give her a bite and she goes crazy with excitement. "Haha calm down, I know you like it." Within seconds the pie is gone and Bucko is ready to leave.
"I'm all ready." I look towards him. "Perfect." I look back over at Alestial.
"Thank you so much for the wonderful pie, it was absolutely marvelous."
She blushes and does a little kirtsy.
"Why you're very welcome." She says with a smile."
"Well we should be going, thanks again." Bucko wraps his arm around his mom.
"Thanks mom." He says with a faint whisper.
"You got your passport right?" Alestial had said.
"Of course mom."
Alestial kisses Bucko on the forehead.
"Please be careful, I love you. See you in a week dear." She said with a smile.
