Chapter 2- The female abnormal

Levi's POV

The only thing that could be heard was the sound of ripping flesh as the female abnormal exterminated every titan one by one - and Hanji's excited screams. Blood sprayed across the scouts, evaporating soon after, as steam rose into the sky. Titan corpses piled up, horrid screeches filling the air.

"AAAH! It's an abnormal! Just when I thought that this trip would be boring!" Hanji used her gear to fly after the rampaging titan, who was about the same height as Eren's titan form.

"Four Eyes, get away from that thing!" Levi called angrily, zipping after her.

"This is amazing..." Armin awed. His eyes were fixed on the being, his mind turning and formulating ideas rapidly.  "It's only killing the titans and completely ignoring us."

"Who's to say it won't turn on us once it finished the titans?" Jean said, a frown dominating his face, as usual. His blades had blood evaporating from the surface, all of their outfits steaming with titan blood.

"I'm not waiting to find out," Mikasa said, carrying Eren on her back. "Let's bandage Eren first, then we can go. I think the aberrant bought us some time." Mikasa wrapped Eren's head in bandages and they went to regroup with the rest of the scouts. Everyone stared in shocked horror as the female aberrant killed the oncoming titans with such athletic precision, and at Hanji zipping after her. Hanji was now eye level with the female titan.

"Hello you beautiful beast!" she yelled at it. "What, may I ask, are you called?" Hanji's eyes widened, her mouth opening slightly in awe when the titan acknowledged her. The titan turned its gaze on the woman, its eyes a piercing crystal blue. It then focused forward and smashed the last two titans, bashing their heads together like it was simply cracking eggs. Hanji landed on the ground, her wide eyes never leaving the titan as its chest heaved from exhaustion. Levi dropped down next to her.

"What the hell were you thinking, Shitty Eyes?" he chastised, sliding his blades back into his carrier. His attention turned to the abnormal, who dropped down to its knees, its arms limp and ceasing its deathly actions. Its body was painted in blood and scratches and torn flesh.

"Captain!" A scout ran to the corporal, his wide eyes glancing around before saluting Levi.

"What is it? What's the casualty count?" Levi asked, his gaze running over the scouts to try and estimate a number.

"Sir, there are no reported casualties!" the scout reported and gasps of surprise were heard throughout the regiment. Levi walked to the abnormal, which collapsed onto its stomach. He was frowning, an almost displeased scowl on his face, though confusion reigned in his eyes.

"You... I don't know where you came from, and honestly I don't want to. But you have my gratitude." Levi was about to walk away and continue their journey, until he heard the sound of ripping flesh coming from the titan. He turned to see the titan steaming,  decaying, but on closer inspection, its flesh still moved. Levi's eyes widened in shock.

"Holy hell..." he whispered as its nape burst open, a body popping out. Hanji immediately ran over, like a child rushing to a possible toy, squeaking with joy.

"Look! Look! It's another Eren!" Hanji scrambled over the titan's decaying body to pull the figure from the restraining muscles still attached, no regard about her safety. Levi joined her. When he approached the nape, he saw that it was a girl. She looked short, probably about Connie's length, with fair skin stained with blood and hot to the touch. Both of the scouts pulled her out and carried her to their commander.

"Sir..." Hanji started, and with one look at the girl, the commander fired a blue flare to anyone who had strayed away. He arranged for a wagon to ride alongside the centre squad and had the girl and Eren placed inside. The squad all resumed positions, throwing questioning looks at the wagon carrying the two unconscious people. Mikasa insisted that she be next to Eren, in case he woke up or the girl needed help. Three bodies were thus on the supply wagon, jostling slightly as they rode on the rocky road. After a while, Eren opened his eyes. He sat up, seeing Mikasa at his side.
