The halls quickly became a problem. I had originally planned to simply find a window, or a courtyard. Since this seemed to be a strange castle. I didn't have proof, but I just knew that this place was literally, and undeniably, underwater. It soon became apparent that the only way I was gonna make it back was getting through the Throne room with the clear room. I hadn't heard anyone come after me, but going back meant defeat. Although it would be embarrassing, I had to get out of here, and find my friends.
It was harder to back track, but I now heard the clatter of the hall. I peeked behind the still unclosed door, and found the Kings and Dukes alike speaking in hushed tones, "...Never make it past the barrier."
And louder, "...Of course he'll make it past. The Siren part of him is," the next part is said with anger, "Purple." I see the slight nod of others.
Next, Takeru spoke, calmly, "Well, He'll soon be back, knowing that the easiest way out is through this room. We must defend it. He cannot leave." He was firm. Certain.
I had never felt more like defying that tone.
I close my eyes, knowing not was the time to act, soon my chance would be lost. Sighing, the door moves out of my sight, and I stand in the doorway, all their eyes bulging, and following my every breath.
Running into the room, I jump on the nets decorating the walls, to find them secured tightly. I climb, and hear the slight shift of air. 'Oh shit'
Water hits me square in the back, and I feel my grip weaken. But I manage to cling on. I hear yelling, "My Lord, don't kill your bride!" I continue to climb, my pace quickening, I was at least twenty feet off the wall, but I was only about half way up. The nets griped my hands just as hard as I gripped them.
Then, another shift in the air, and water gently comes around, tugging on me. I wrap my legs in the net, clinging. Harder, the water pulls.
Almost silently, I hear the Asinine Kings voice, "Please, don't make this hard for me." He seemed to right next to me, whispering in my ear, he was so sad, and so kind. It didn't sound like his voice, he did not seem that kind. The water pulled constantly now. I almost let my grip go, but then I heard him yell, "Get someone up there now!"
Shit. I feel the water tug harder, but I increase my grip, and continue. The net shifts, and I look down, to not only see dizzying heights, but a man with a flair of red hair, climbing quickly up the ropes. I look back up. I had about ten feet left until I came upon the curved roof. I pulled myself up, and reach out, touching the warm water. It was like a portal. I stick my hand through, and then my other hand, bracing my self. The water seemed to pull me through.
