 I awaken sharply.

"Orator!"

The lady looks back at me, a queer look upon her face.

"Miss, are you alright?"

"Orator, that's my name. Adelais and I, we were walking and ..."

"Ah yes miss... Orator. What else can you remember? What happened when you reached the town?"

A tear slowly fell down the side of my face, I don't know what to say, so I say nothing and let myself fall back into the dream. The blood coursing around my body as I do so, my head pounds and I feel myself fall under the dreams cruel spell.

"The walk was so much longer than expected ,and as I thought the rain never gave up. I saw a small pub first and I had a feeling that someone there could help us. Adelais had fallen asleep, tired little guy. We needed somewhere to stay for a while and I was determind to find one. I was cold, really cold. Adelais had my jacket, it was more important for him to stay warm though and the steady rain fall was almost soothing against my sore skin. I headed cautiously into the pub, peering gently around the corner in the hope to find someone, but alas, I found no one. I didn't want to call out, Adelais needed to sleep. So I left there and began to search through the town. I discovered it was completely empty, as I stumbled through theshops and houses, I felt sick. Where had everyone gone? Why would everyone just leave? There had to be a reason. In the mean time, I went to the nearest unlocked shop to get a few things to help us on our journey. I found an army equipment shop next to a corner shop. Between the both I took money, food, a pocket knife, a bag, a few bottles, two blanket and a set of clean clothes each (camo admittedly, but I had a feeling Adey would be quite impressed). I thought we may as well settle for a while until we discovered more about this place. It was all I could call safe at this time. By this point, I staggered along the road, Adelais still asleep on my shoulders, to a small, gentle looking house. I gently opened the door and began to look through the house. I took and blanket from the bag and headed upstairs, where I found a basic bed. That was all I needed. I woke Adelais up.

"Orator, where are we?"

"Adey, I found us a place to stay, I found some tings for us. Change into these clothes and jump into bed, you must be tired little guy."

He does quite like his army things and was impressed with the camo gear, it was nice to see him perked up for the first time in a long time. He giggled and struck a pose.

"How do I look?"

"You're my little warrior, aren't you? Come on then, into bed buddy."

Much to my surprise he jumped into the bed without asking twice. Just like when he was very little.

Ah, it hurts to think back too far. I continued to scope out the room a little more.

"Orator?"

"Yeah"

"Is this home now?"

"It might be for a little while, but we can't stay here forever."

"Okay"

He was such a sweet little guy. He settled down pretty quickly, I guess one can't get the best sleep whilst balanced on your sisters shoulders. I didn't want to leave the room, I couldn't leave him on his own.  I wondered about what he said. Was this home? I had no idea how long we were going to stay here. I guess it all depends on how long we could survive here. For a vacant town, it seemed pretty well stocked. I guess they must have left in a hurry, but the question still stands. Why?
