Woah, I guess I must have fallen asleep. Owww, my back! I guess I left the bed for Adelais, and that's what sleeping on the floor does to you.  We need breakfast.  I wonder if there's any bowls downstairs as I grabbed some cereal. Dry mind you, I don't want to know how long the milk has been there, it's not worth the risk.

I venture downstairs, it's weird. Everything is just too quite in this god forsaken town. It seems quite in the middle of things. I should probably write this down, it would help bring me closer to what has happened.  I have no idea the date, now that I think about it, I'm not entirely sure the year. We have probably spent all our lives before this point inside, like that weird little place we were in.  Can I write? Surely I must be able to, I can speak can't I. I need to try.

"Ade...". He stires a little, never seen the little guy sleep so long.

"Umm, yeah"

" I need to go back over the shop, I thought I'd tell you. I've scoped the house out and I'm pretty sure no one else is here.  You're welcome to come with but I'd prefer it if you stayed here."

"I wanna come with you"

"Okay, but we need to go now, Action Man"

"okay"

And so we do, I walk forward, down the stairs. They're actually strikingly long, then again that may be normal for around here. I haven't looked through any of the other houses. I open the door slowly, Adelais directly behind me. He doesn't catch the door, it slams and I wake up.

"Miss, we were so close!"  I'm crying, I can't help it.

"Don't go! Don't go any further, I don't want you to, I don't want to!"

Like lightening, she pours a few drops of a strange liquid onto a rag and clamps it over my mouth.

"I'm sorry miss, but we need to know."
