Chapter 5 : Bring On The Awkward
Elle’s P.O.V
I ran downstairs , bolting to the lyrics of Thrift shop .
“ In a good mood , I see ” a voice spoke , making my head snap up towards it .
Carrie .
Carrie is this wonderful friend of mine .
She always puts on a wide smile , despite her being a 70 year old .
The first time I met her , she sat there alone at a café ; deep in her thoughts .
Talking with her for about an hour helped me discover a lot about her .
She had fallen in love with her husband Aden, under aged .
That day , she sat there lonely as he had passed away .
The thing that made me instantly click off with her was what she quoted being the first words between Carrie and Aden after their confession .
“ Carrie , age is just a number ” Aden said , as his voice rang with sincerity.
“ And jail is just a room ” came back the usual sarcastic reply , from a young Carrie .
And that sent me burst out laughing .
“ Carrie ! ” I exclaimed , engulfing her in a fierce hug .
“ High on sugar , eh ? ” Carrie asked , with a wide grin on .
All I could do was grin at her .
“ Carrie , I have a meeting today ” I said , slowly .
