It was winter in England this time of year. Snow filled the streets creating a beautiful scene, but it was very cold. It was -10° outside today, but Arthur didn't mind. Arthur actually liked the cold. He was sitting in has favorite chair drinking a hot cup tea and reading a book. Arthur was finally getting a break from work and he was going to take it easy. As he was reading he started to read a paragraph about a car accident. He threw the book to the floor, breathing heavily. Any time he would hear, see or read about a car accident, he would have a small panic attack. It had been 17yrs since the accident, but it still affected him. Arthur is 42yrs old now and he hates that it still affects him.

"Why does this always bloody happen?! It's been years since the accident, so why can't I just go back to normal?!

Arthur clutched his shirt and cringed his face. This would happen every year on the same day. Arthur had sadness in his emerald orbs. He started to tear up, but he refused to let them fall.

"So it's been another year already? Time seems to go by faster each year... I despise this pain... I want the warmth back..."

Arthur looked up at the photo he had of Alfred and he couldn't hold back the tears any longer. He silently wept, placing his hand over his heart. Arthur had been feeling pain instead of warmth for the past 3yrs. He didn't understand why it changed. He didn't understand why Alfred hadn't been able to see him for the past 10yrs. Arthur just wanted some kind of warmth from Alfred.

"Why... Why is this happening... I miss him so much... I just want one bloody sign that he hasn't left me! He told me he would always watch over me! So why haven't I been able to feel his presence anywhere?! Did he get mad at me? Did I do something? I hate not knowing!"

At that moment, there was a knock at the door. Arthur half hoped it was Alfred standing there. He hurriedly walked over to the door and opened it. Arthur had a big smile on his face, but it turned to a frown when he saw Francis instead.

"Oh, it's just you, frog."

Francis let out a dramatic gasp toward Arthur.

"*gasp!* is that any way to greet your friend?! I'm very offended!"

"I'm sorry... I was just expecting someone else..."

"Hmm? I thought you only had plans with me today?"

"It's nothing. Just forget it. We should go if we're going to make it."

"Hmmm... Okay... I'm going to get you to tell me sooner or later."

"Whatever frog. Let's go."

Arthur and Francis were headed to a school play. Arthur had to go, because his daughter was in the play along with Francis' daughter. Arthur had adopted a baby girl 15yrs ago. Her names is Amelia Heart Kirkland. She had sandy blonde hair, sky blue eyes and naturally tanned skin. She looked just like Alfred, but female. Arthur loved her so much. She was his light in the dark, his warmth, his everything. Back before Alfred stopped visiting, Alfred would hold and play with Amelia. Alfred loved her as much as Arthur did. Amelia loved Alfred like he was her father. She was 5yrs old when Alfred stopped visiting and it tore her to pieces. She missed him too. She's 15yrs old now, in high school. Even though Arthur and her think maybe Alfred left them, they didn't resent him. They still love him with all their heart. Amelia was a trouble child every once in awhile, but her and Arthur never fought. She just bugged the fire out of him for fun. Arthur hated to admit that he enjoyed it, even though it bugged him.

Francis and Arthur arrived at the school, bought their tickets and found a seat. The play was Romeo and Juliet. Amelia was Juliet and Francis' daughter, Lily, was Romeo. Arthur didn't like that Francis' daughter was Romeo, but he had to live with it. When Amelia walked on stage Arthur had the biggest smile on his face. Amelia looked so beautiful. Arthur was so proud to be her dad. With her being beautiful though, he had to ward off teenage boys who wanted to "go out" with her. He knew what they wanted and he wasn't going to allow it to happen. If Arthur wasn't present though, Amelia could take care of herself. She put five guys in the hospital who tried to gang up on her once. Arthur smirked remembering that. Francis looked at him, concerned with what he might be thinking

"What did you think of to make a smirk like that?"

"Huh? Oh, haha. I was thinking of when Amelia beat those five boys awhile back."

"And you're happy?"

Well, yes and no. Yes, because she can protect herself if I'm not around and no, because she nearly killed the poor boys. I'm more happy than angry though. Hehehe..."

"Ehh... You scare me sometimes..."

"Good."

"Good?! Why good?!"

"Haha! I'm joking Francis."

"*gasp!* Arthur made a joke?! Are you feeling alright? Do you have a fever?"

Francis was smiling, messing with Arthur. He was pretending to feel for a fever and laughing in his strange laugh.

"Honhonhon! I didn't know you could be playful."

"I can too be playful when I want to be, bloody frog!"

"Alright, alright! Stop hitting me!"

Arthur folded his arms and smiled at Francis. Both of them were waiting for their kids to come out. When they finally did, Amelia ran up and hugged Arthur.

"Hey dad! Did you like the play? Did I do good?

"Haha, you preformed wonderfully my love! Truly splendid!"

"Yay! I'm happy now!"

Lily went and stood by her father. They were talking about something and Lily's face went a bright red. Francis started laughing and patting his daughter's shoulder.

"Hey dad!" Amelia burst out of nowhere.

"What is it love?"

"Could we all go get something warm? Oh! Like that hot coco shop!"

"Haha, of course love. Would you two like to join us?"

"Oui! Lily and I would love come with you! Hot coco sounds yummy right now!"

All of them grabbed their things and headed for the Café. Francis and Amelia were singing very loud on the drive there. Lily smiled and was watching Amelia. Arthur was glaring at her and when she noticed, she quickly took her eyes off Amelia and twiddled her fingers. Arthur sighed and looked out the window. He was thinking that Alfred would be singing along with Amelia and Francis if he were here. Alfred wasn't too good of a singer, but he has his moment when his voice was absolutely beautiful. It's like he was a totally different person. Arthur smiled at the thought and was startled when Amelia shouted their arrival to the Café. They all walked inside, sat down and had a cheer-filled night.
