Chapter 1 <We Meet Again>

Narration:

   It was a sunny day, you could find people walking and chatting together happily. Not too far away from a town known as Cains, in a thick forest, rich with tall,dark green trees, you could find a fairly strange pair, hidden in between the branches.

Yukinne's  P.O.V.

   "Come on,you can do it, I know you can. We're almost there, I promise. Just a bit more,then we'll rest, okay?" I assured. My sweet, melodic voice could barely be heard through the rustle of the wind.

    The only answer I received from the person in the rusted armor was a simple head nod, and some almost inaudible grunts and gasps. That was enough for me, so I didn't bother the person again. I kept walking for what seemed like hours, which was actually very likely; my partner, the person in the suit, had already passed out long before, but If I keep walking and don't reach any resting spots soon, I might just do the same. I simply put one of my companions' arms around my shoulder so that I wouldn't drop my friend. My eyelids started to droop, and my vision gradually got fuzzy. Finally, my only salvation is the growing shadow I noticed on the path before us. As I get closer, the shadow became clearer, and it eventually takes the shape of... a bar! Yes, my wish has finally come true, well, not really, but it is definitely up there because of my stomach. I heard a soft 'mew ' come from below me.

       I looked down only to find my pet, familiar and friend, looking up at me with her deep, light blue eyes.

  "I know, I know, just give me a moment, would you? I should have enough money from the last job to feed all of us, and you don't have to worry about someone recognizing me. I can shape-shift, remember? The only ones that know what I look like are the 7 other sins and the king. Plus, I can just hide my ears, right?" I reasoned tiredly.

    Her eyes switched from looking at me, to looking at the bar that was becoming closer by the second. Her lush, blue-ish, black pelt shimmered in the sun, and her nine tails were swishing behind her. Yep, you guessed it, she is a nine-tailed fox; her names Tsuki no Kage. It means moon's shadow. weird, right? Well, I like it. Soon enough, we reached the bar known as the"Boar Hat". I could feel my stomach rumbling and my aching muscles made me forget that I ever had a brain.  I rushed in, forgetting to shift, so that my ears and tail were hidden. What I saw was shocking. I could feel my heart tighten in my chest, it's rhythm reaching my ears. B-dump b-dump, b-dump b-dump. It couldn't be him, could it? No way, right? No, It's not possible. It can't be him, their's no way I'm that lucky, right? Those big green eyes, that childish grin, the shaggy,blonde locks that framed his face perfectly, and his short stature. It was him! He hasn't aged a day. At this point my unconscious friend had clattered to the floor, her helmet coming off, to reveal an elegant, young lady. Tsuki was sniffing her, to make sure she was okay. My eyes never left his, for I was too afraid that if I were to blink, then the man before me would just up and disappear. It felt like I couldn't breath, a lump making a home for itself in my throat. I was on the verge of tears, for I had finally found him, the person I cared about most, my world, my everything; he was the reason I even bother to get up in the morning, I lived each day the best way I could, just so I could see him.

   Finally, I muster up my last remaining strength for I was still starving, and I managed a feeble "Is that really you, Captain?" before everything went black.
