Camryns Pov.

I wasn't the smartest girl, or the one with all the money but with a coke bottle shape and a face like my moms, I was definitely the girl every nigga wanted to fuck with.

There wasn't one dude around that I couldn't have, but there was also wasn't none that I wanted. Being the pretty girl wasn't what it was all talked up to be, especially when I had my own blood out to get me. But it's life right? Momma always said, beauty comes with pain.

"Sit still Camryn damn!" I could still hear my mothers voice.

She was always popping me in the ear when I moved as she brushed my hair. I would complain about her getting my forehead which always made her say her favorite line;

"Beauty comes with pain honey."

She finished styling my edges and began plucking my eyebrows. I was only 11.

"But I don't want to be-

"Don't you dare say it! It's a lie! When you get older, you'll be happy mommy showed you how to look your best." She snapped before grabbing the foundation.

"Okay." I said, not wanting to make her angry.

She wasn't a bad mother, she was just different. Always changing her clothes, counting calories, making herself throw up after dinner, and ordering useless dieting products online. Rather it was two in the afternoon or two in the morning, she always had a face full of Mac and a banging outfit that complimented her model frame. She looked her very best no matter the occasion. Her looks were everything to her.

I had a good life until I lost her. She had always complained about wrinkles, her age and her body. It was like she looked in the mirror and imagined up problems because to me she was perfect.

"You look beautiful mommy." I remembered saying to her.

"Maybe now, but I'm only getting older baby. I don't wanna grow old, I don't wanna watch myself grow old." She said to me.

I knew she was upset but I never imagined that she'd do what she did. It was the worst day of my life. She had time to dress up and do her make up one last time but not once did she come in my room to say goodbye. She was gone, just like that.

I was only twelve when that happened. After that, I was sent off to live with my father and his family in Baldwin Hills, California.

I never met my dad before then and the moment I did, I knew why. He wasn't a good man. He let his sons do whatever they wanted and talked down on his wife Lisa, often. I could see why my mom kept me from him, even though he never fought to see me anyways. Bottom line, I didn't like my father and he didn't care to much about me either.

It was only my first week being there when one of his 16 year old sons, Tyler snuck into my room. I was young but certainly not stupid. His intentions were clear as he locked my door behind him.

"I'm only twelve." I said in fear, watching him undress.

He didn't care. None of them did. Everyone acted as if they couldn't hear my screams that night, except Lisa who cried with me the next morning. She was all I had. After that night, things only got more complicated.
