It was finally the day of the dance. Jasmine was still in her feelings, barely speaking and Camryn hadn't said nothing to me period.
I was just ready to get that day over with and go talk to my girl. I missed her and even though I knew she was mad at me, I still couldn't wait to see her again.
"Do you think my hair looks good, up like this?" Jasmine asked, looking over at me.
We was at her crib, getting ready to dip.
I shrugged. "Yeah, it looks good." I said, dryly.
I had to learn to keep my compliments to a minimum when it came to her now, cause I ain't want her talking them the wrong way. My heart was clearly with someone else so it would've been wrong to lead her on.
"Okay." She said looking back in the mirror.
"What time is this shit gone be over?" I asked her.
She shrugged. "I don't know, maybe one or two, why?" She asked.
I shook my head. "I'm just asking." I said.
She looked at me through the mirror, sighing. "Can you at least pretend to have a good time tonight ?" She asked me.
"I am, I'm just, I don't know." I said, running my hand through my hair.
"You can talk to me Riley." She said, walking over to me.
"I know, I just don't now if I wanna talk to you about this." I said.
"You can talk to me about anything." She said, seriously.
I took a deep breath.
"I wanna be with Camryn but I also don't wanna lose this friendship." I admitted.
She put her hand on my cheek, tilting my face up so we could make eye contact. "No matter what, we'll always be friends. The only person that's trying to make you choose is Camryn. So that's the person you should be telling this to." She told me.
I closed my eyes, letting my head drop into my hands. "I know man, but she-
"Not gonna like that. I know." She laughed a little. "Especially because it's me."
I squinted at her. "Why don't she like you?" I asked her.
She shrugged. "Well, we used to be best friends." She said to me.
My eyes widened, hearing something I never thought I'd hear. "What happened?" I had to ask.
She shook her head. "I don't wanna go there." She said to me.
That was the first time she had ever shut me out. It must've been bad.
"You said I can tell you anything, so why you feel like you can't tell me this?" I asked her.
Her eyes were getting glossy as she spoke. "Because it was my fault. I was so thirsty for attention that I betrayed my only friend." She said as her voice cracked between her words.
Just by her reaction, I could tell it still bothered her.
"What did you do? Come sit and talk to me." I said, patting the space next to me.
She slowly sat, playing with her fingers. "I was, I was fucking Ronnie behind her back. I knew it was wrong and I tried to brake it off with him but then he started blackmailing me, saying if I stopped then he would tell Cam. I wanted to tell her myself, but she had already been through so much, I couldn't dare hurt her." She said as tears poured from her eyes.
I hated to see Jas cry, but she needed let that shit out. I rubbed her back before speaking again. "So, what happened when she found out?" I asked her.
She shrugged, wiping her eyes. "What you think happened? We fell out, and she stayed with him." She said. "I respected it, because I was wrong."
"It wasn't completely your fault, and you shouldn't still be beating yourself up about it." I told her.
"All I ever wanted, was to be one of those pretty girls that every guy wanted." She said lowly. "And now, I'm just the girl that every guy had."
I pulled her into a hug, letting her cry into my chest. I ain't care if my costume got messed up, I just wanted her to stop talking down on herself.
"No matter what you say about yourself, you're a queen, and one day you gone find the right king." I said, rubbing her head.
She wrapped her arms around my torso and sighed. "I hope you're right." She whispered.

After another thirty minutes of Jas fixing her makeup, we finally made it to the party. Even though it was a school dance, the actual party was held at a hall near Central Park.
After handing in our tickets at the door, I took Jas by the arm and we walked through the double doors into. It was big as hell inside with so many Halloween decorations hanging from the ceilings. Even though it was kinda dark, I could still see all the half naked girls walking around in costumes.
"Why do I see so much-
"Ass? Yeah, a lot of girls use Halloween as an excuse to dress slutty. The school doesn't care, and for $30 a ticket they shouldn't." Jasmine said, shrugging.
I nodded, looking around the room. It was a lot of half naked girls around me.
"Damn, you sure you wanna be with Camryn?" Jas asked, tapping me in the stomach.
I laughed a little looking back at her. "What you mean? I was just looking." I said.
"Yeah, I bet you was. Let's go dance, before you get yourself in trouble." She laughed, pulling me through the crowd.
We danced for a while, clowning around until a slow song came on. I wasn't tryna slow dance and neither was she so we drifted off the dance floor quick.
I was actually having a good time with Jasmine, and I couldn't deny, I was never bored around her. She was smiling hard the entire night, making a lot of girls stare her down in envy. It was her smile lit the room up.
We was at the snack table, racking up on some brownies when a redheaded girl walked up beside, bumping into me a little.
My mouth dropped, as she looked at me. She was drop dead gorgeous. Just looking at her had my dick jumping though my pants. She was the sexiest girl I had ever laid eyes on.
"Hey, I'm Jessica." She said, giving me a devious grin.
