Chapter 1
Whisper's about a human, entering the city echoed throughout the conversations all around me. I was tired of this. I was going to see if this was true.
It was still light outside, so there would be no spirit's dwindling about outside.
I was walking around the perimeter of the bath house when I saw her. She was admiring the bath house. Then she turned to look at me.
I gasped. It was true. She seemed oddly familiar, and I couldn't stop taking in her face. Memories flooded back to me. Her name was Chihiro. I had no clue how I knew that, but it was certain that I was connected to her. Then reality hit me. She would have the same fate as me, if I didn't do something about it.
"You shouldn't be here! Get out of here! Now!" I yelled.
"What?" She looked at me with an odd expression.
"It's almost night. Leave before it gets dark," I saw a lamp start to light up. "They are lighting the lamps! Get out of here. You have to get across the river. Go! I'll distract them."
She turned around and sprinted towards the river. I tried to distract them with a spell.
I heard Chihiro mutter under her breathe "What's up with him?" as she ran away. If only she knew.
I turned left and ran away as fast as I could. I would have to find Chihiro before Yubaba did. It was already too late. The river was full and she would not be able to cross. I heard her screaming. The spirit's must be coming out. I tried to follow her voice, but as soon as I got to where I heard the noise coming from, she was gone.
I wandered through the streets searching for her. Finally, i saw her watching spirit's enter the bathhouse. She held up her hands and gasped as she saw her hands fading.
Chihiro ran behind some buildings and sat, curled up in the fetal position.
I hurried over to her and tried to calm her. I put my arms on her see-through shoulders. "Don't be afraid, I just want to help you."
"No, no, no!" She cried.
"Open your mouth and eat this. You have to eat some food from this world or else you'll disappear." I tried to fit a small berry into her mouth. She squirmed and wiggled, trying to avoid the berry.
"No!" Chihiro tried to push me away, but as she did so, her hands went right through me. Shock showed up on her face, and she gasped. Her arm floated through my head, and I didn't flinch at all. She needed to eat the berry soon.
