Message in the old book.

      Angel, Conner, Spike and Illyria are in the final battle for L.A. against Wolfram and Hart's senior partners. Meanwhile back in the Pryce's family den, on the desk in the corner off to the left side of the fireplace. A dusty brown package addressed to Mr. Conrad William Pryce London, England post marked nine years ago from Wesley Wyndem-Pryce L.A. California. Minerva Pryce walks in as Conrad is looking down at the book for the millionth time in nine years. She asks him “Hun, who sent that and when did you get it?” Conrad turns to look at his loving wife with a sadden face and replies to her, “Wesley sent it nine years ago, dear. I haven’t opened it, because it is the last thing he sent.” Minerva puts her hands on her hip and tells him, “Conrad William Pryce, you open that package that Wesley sent to you now. I want to know why he stop talking to us right now.” Conrad opens the package, only to find a letter that asks him to please open the book. Where he finds another letter folded and placed in the front of the book.

      ‘Dear Father and Mother,

I am truly sorry that it has been so long since we have spoken. As you may remember, we are now working out of the L.A. branch of Wolfram and Hart. Things have had a strange turn of events; one of my co-workers has died after contracting the life force of a demon. But what you may not know is I had fallen in love with her. Her name was Wilfred, Fred for short; I felt that she was my life, body and soul. Now, I fear that something is broken inside of me. And I sit wishing for the end to come take me. The demon that has taken over Fred’s body is named Illyria.

      This is the only known reference to the demon Illyria, and if what it says is true: we may need all the help that we can get. There is a reference to a way to bring down Wolfram and Hart around the world, but Illyria is willing to help us. And because she is in Fred’s body I feel conflicted, she has all of Fred’s memories and feelings. She has informed me that all of our memories of what occurred with Angel and us from six months ago when we took over Wolfram and Hart are not quite true.

      I have now learned that Angel has a son and due to the incorrect translation of the prophecy, I have betrayed Angel and got his son, Conner stolen away into another dimension. I was attacked and almost died by the hands of one of the kidnappers. Angel gave him up when we took control of Wolfram and Hart, so that he could lead a normal like with a normal family. A demon made it to where his parents brought him to our office to help destroy another demon. In order to find this out I broke the demon’s magic memory box.

      Now, I fear something has gone wrong with Angel, because he is acting very strangely. He has now decided to “Not sweat the small things, and enforce more towards the demon side of our clientele of Wolfram and Hart.” So as you can see, something is up. And if my concerns are founded, then you maybe my last hope in saving the world. Here is a verse that I know that you will be able to translate, to let my soul speak to you.

      Soon after translating and read this out loud Wesley’s ghost appears in front of both of his parents.

      ‘Father, Mother, this means that I am dead, and not because of Angel. All of the things he has done have been to rid L.A. and the world of Wolfram and Hart. Illyria has already avenged my death. As I lay dying in her arms, she showed me that she loved me as much as Fred loved me. And to tell you the truth I love her just as much as I loved Fred. Please father send them help, L.A. fallen into hell.

       I have been trying to keep an eye on them down there. The powers that be has allowed me to warn you that Wolfram and Hart are now trying to raise hell onto this plain that you are on. Father, I need you to get a hold of Giles, Buffy and the other slayers. Have Giles and Buffy to get her friends to meet them at your house. When they come here, repeat the phrase and I will fill everyone in on the plan to get rid of the rest of the branches of Wolfram and Hart. And remember that I will always love you both, goodbye father and mother.’ His ghost disappears.   

      While his mother sits on the small couch crying, his father wipes a lone tear away and dials Giles phone number in France. After the fourth ring, Giles answers the phone. Mr. Pryce starts the call with, “Giles this is Conrad Pryce, and we have a problem. How fast can you get here with Buffy and the gang?” Giles takes a moment to think and then replies, “Conrad, give us forty-eight hours and we will be at your house. Can you tell mw what the problem is, Conrad?”

      Mr. Pryce just replies, “It is best if I tell everyone at the same time. We await your arrival in forty-eight hours, Thank you and bye for now, Giles.” As Giles thinks to himself, ‘this has to be really bad if Conrad says Thank You.’ But he says to Conrad, “Okay then until then, bye for now Conrad.” They hang up the phone at the same time. Conrad Pryce walks over to where his wife is setting down and joins her. As the sorrow racks through her frail body, he holds her close to him in a loving embrace.
