"You're so beautiful," Dan said, eyes wide as he stared at Phil in awe.

"Not really," Phil blushed, sitting on the bed next to Dan.

"Recite me another one," Dan pleaded, "Please."

"I don't have that many poems memorized," Phil said, pecking Dan's nose gently, making him giggle.

"You're cute, Phil," Dan bit his lip, slipping an arm around the other boy's shoulders.

"You're not too bad either," Phil teased. He leaned in and Dan planted a long, warm kiss on his lips. "I can't believe this," Phil said, their lips still touching.

"Can't believe what?" Dan inquired, brushing Phil's hair out of his eyes.

"You, now," Phil answered, "I mean I've had a crush on you for so long, but I—I never thought you'd notice me."

"How could I not notice you?" Dan asked, placing a hand on Phil's thigh, "You're the most beautiful person in the entire high school."

"Well there's not much competition," Phil giggled, "Don't tell Sophie I said that."

"You're a dork," Dan teased, kissing Phil's eyelids sweetly.

"I didn't know you noticed," Phil said, blushing profusely now, "I mean, I didn't know you were the type to notice. I—I mean—" Phil was cut off as Dan pressed their lips together.

"I try to keep it that way," Dan admitted, "If people knew I—I don't know what would happen."

"I understand," Phil said, a little sadly, "I just wish—"

"I know," Dan promised, "One day."

"Yeah. One day," Phil agreed, "Why do you care what other people think so much?"

"I don't," Dan said, a little defensively, "I only care about you. But they—" Dan sighed, at a loss. "They're—"

"Your friends," Phil said, staring down at his hands, "Yeah."

"They aren't real friends," Dan said, kissing the top of Phil's head, "Real friends care about you. They don't care about me."

"Then why do you hang out with them?" Phil insisted.

"It's complicated."

"No it isn't," Phil said, "It's easier. It's easier to be friends with them than be with me. I get it. I'd probably make the same choice if I was you."

"I love you," Dan said, taking Phil's hand in his.

"I want to believe that so much," Phil smiled slightly, squeezing Dan's hand.

"Kiss me?" Dan asked, cupping Phil's chin in his hand.

"You don't have to ask," Phil giggled, leaning in and kissing Dan again. Dan slid his tongue between Phil's lips and Phil let him in eagerly, placing a hand gingerly on Dan's neck. They kissed for a long minute before Dan took Phil's bottom lip between his teeth, biting softly.

"Mmm," Phil let out a small moan and Dan smirked into the kiss, biting Phil gently again. Phil tangled his hands in Dan's hair as they fell back onto his bed. Phil crawled on top of Dan, planting small kisses down his neck and around his ears. He pulled Dan's shirt over his head, biting at his collarbone playfully, causing Dan to whimper and moan. Phil returned his kiss to Dan's mouth just in time for Dan to push him over, taking his place on top. They kissed and Dan rolled his hips against Phil's, triggering moans from both boys

"God, Dan!" Phil whimpered as Dan left small bite marks on his neck, just beneath his chin. "Oh!"

"Do you like that, Baby?" Dan asked, is lips still on Phil's skin.

"Yeah," Phil managed. "Ooh, oh—"

"—My God, what the fuck!" Both boys sat up instantly as the other voice entered the room, "Dan? Dan Howell, what the fuck?"

"Shit!" Dan swore quietly, "It isn't what it looks like!" he didn't so much as look back at Phil as he grabbed his shirt off the floor and rushed toward whatever boy was standing in the doorway, Phil couldn't tell who. It didn't matter. Phil felt his body begin to shake with fear and horror as Dan walked away, and he wondered if he'd really meant any of what he'd said. He felt tears begin to well as he silently pulled his shoes back on. He had to get out of here.

As he left the party, he caught a hint of Dan's voice.

"—crazy, yeah, I don't really know what happened, the fag just came onto me—"

Phil didn't even try to stop the sobs as he ran the entire way home.
