[Pete's POV]
I was like a little baby. I cried every night without Julia. I needed her. My life isn't the same without her. Will she ever come back for me? Will she ever forgive me? I don't think so. I'm just a stupid heart breaker who doesn't deserve anything.
Melody was at school. I was happy she was. I didn't want my princess to be worried about me or ask if Julia will ever come back. Hearing her ask for mommy and hearing my thoughts echo her name, I couldn't stop being my broken self.
I sat alone in what used to be me and Julia's house. Now, it was just mine with my Melody. I was on the couch, staring at my phone, wondering if I should call Julia. I knew I shouldn't, but I did. I picked up my phone and called her. It rang, over and over.
"Hi, it's Julia. Sorry I did not answer your call. Please leave a message and I'll get back with you as soon as possible!"I heard her voicemail box say.
As soon as possible... Was she going to call me back? I didn't know. But I heard it beep and I gulped loudly. Should I say leave a message? Or should I chicken out and hang up? That's when I spoke.
"Uh..."I began. "Julia. I'm...I-I'm really sorry about yesterday. It's just that...."I paused. I didn't know what else to say. Tears ran down my face. My sadness filled my lungs. I could barely speak. "I still love you. Please, just...just call me. I need you..."
I hung up and closed my eyes. Why did I say to call me? I knew she wouldn't, or even think about calling me. I made a huge mistake. And I knew she would never forget. Julia will probably think "I love you" didn't mean a thing. But it does. I still
love her to death. But I still don't know why I ever let her go.I heard a gentle knock on the front door.
"It's Patrick!"I heard from outside.
"Go away..."I said in lament.
"I brought pizza...!"I heard Patrick say.
He knew I always gave in when it came to pizza. I sighed and got up from the couch. I was in a black tank top and black skinny jeans. My hair was a mess still from not brushing it earlier today. I unlocked the door and Patrick had a box of pizza in his hand. I grabbed it from him and he walked inside.
"Hey, man..."he said.
"Hi..."I sadly responded.
"Anna told me..."he began.
I quick looked at him. "You had to tell Anna! And Anna had to tell Julia. What did you do? Gang up on me?"I yelled.
Patrick's eyes got big as he looked at me.
"Gang up? Pete, I wasn't following your idiot scheme you call "hiding." You knew she was going to find out! And hiding it is not a good thing! So don't blame me!" He brushed passes me, madly. "I came to cheer you up, not to get yelled and blamed at."
I followed Patrick as he headed into the kitchen. I sighed.
"I'm sorry. It's just, I don't know why I let Julia go. I should of thought twice..."I explained.
We both stood around the kitchen island, where the pizza box laid. I opened it and grabbed two slices of pepperoni pizza. So did Patrick.
"She didn't even come down to eat last night. Anna brought her dinner up to her room."Patrick told me and took a bite into the pizza.
"Don't you think she'll ever forgive me?"I asked him.
He stared at me and shrugged. "To be honest, I don't know. What you did, it could end your relationship forever. She could move on. She could stay single forever. Or she could go back to you. But it all depends on how she feels, deep down inside her heart."Patrick explained.
All I did was look down at the ground with the rest of my tears falling from my eyes.
"Pete, I'm sorry. But sometimes, relationships never last."
"BUT THIS ONE WAS SUPPOSED TO LAST! I HAD MANY RELATIONSHIPS OVER MY TEENAGE YEARS AND I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE AND I HAD TO GO IN AND RUIN IT CAUSE I THOUGHT I NEEDED MORE! BUT I DIDN'T NEED MORE! MELODY AND JULIA ARE ALL I NEED! THAT GIRL I WAS OUT WITH, SHE DIDN'T MEAN A THING TO ME, PATRICK! ONLY JULIA. ONLY HER..."
Patrick shook his head. "I wish I knew how to help you forget all of this, but it seems to be-"
"JAMMED INTO MY MIND! I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT JULIA! I CANT FORGET THE WAY SHE YELLED AT ME! SHE CALLED ME AN ***HOLE IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE RESTAURANT! I CANT FORGET THE WAY SHE STARED AT ME WITH HER EYES FILLED WITH TEARS! I CANT FORGET BECAUSE I CAUSED ALL OF THAT!"I yelled. "IM A HORRIBLE HUSBAND, PATRICK..."
"Hi, it's Julia. Sorry I did not answer your call. Please leave a message and I'll get back with you as soon as possible!"I heard her voicemail box say.
I imagined Me and Patrick's conversation the whole time as my phone rang. I didn't realize it wasn't real for a second till I actually listened to the words, coming through my phone. I heard the phone beep, but all I did was end the call, being a chicken and chickening out.
I sighed as I slowly put my phone down on the couch. Julia, I thought of her. She was gone, away from me, probably telling herself how bad of a person I really am. If she's saying that, I don't blame her. I really was. I hurt her. And I let her go.
After a while, I got up from the couch and went upstairs and into my room. I went through a drawer and found a book and a pen. I knew I wasn't supposed to do this because of a certain promise, but I began to write. This time, I didn't want anyone to know. No one, not even Julia, Patrick, or Anna. We all promised each other this certain thing that we wouldn't do anymore. But I broke it. I broke the promise. But I had to. I just had to.
