The afternoon passed quickly as Alex and Harry passed the time picking tomatoes, carrots, and lettuce. Whenever their conversation got to light-hearted, Harry was quickly reminded of his situation with his friends.

"Alex, what do you think is going to happen to the boys?"

Alex stopped picking tomatoes and sat on the ground. "Honestly, Harry, I don't know. It really wasn't my intention to give a damn about you guys when I left. I just needed to get back home. Remember when I told you about my mother's gone? Well, she's not really dead, but she might as well be. She's sick, Harry. I don't know how long she has because I'm not allowed to see her. I was going to catch the next bus out, but, well, I guess you happened."

"Are you blaming me for not seeing your mother?"

"What? No. That's not it. It's just, I- I feel like we're closer than we were before, and I guess maybe rescuing your friends should be the priority."

"Do you feel like we're terrible people? Oh good, we're terrible people. We got kidnapped together and we haven't done a damn thing to get them back. We could have called the police, or called somebody, or tried returning home or-"

"You're right. We could have done more, and let people know we're okay, but I've really enjoyed the last 24 hours. I'm so used to being followed, by fans, paparazzi, management. I just wanted to be selfish for a day, to be off the grid. Besides, Liam got the call out. Someone's looking for them, and we don't really know where to begin looking anyway." He walked towards Alex slowly, before sitting down beside her.

"So," he continued, "why don't we just enjoy a hearty dinner, and pick things up tomorrow morning when we're well-rested and well-fed. Alright?"

Alex breathed deeply, but she had to admit he had a point. "Okay."

Once they both got back from the field, they started preparing the actual dinner. On the menu, that night was a delicious red pasta with garlic bread and a hearty salad on the side. In all, it looked scrumptious.

"Dinner's ready!" Harry shouted from the kitchen

"Ooh, it smells delightful!" Cathleen smiled from the staircase. Alex and Harry were unaware that they had other guests but luckily, they had prepared enough food to go spare. The two other guests were also British.

"Agreed." They said also coming in..

Alex and Harry both looked at each other because they didn't know there were other guests but were glad to meet them.

"Oh, I don't believe we've met." The boys had said

"I'm Finn, and this is Lucas." They smiled. One looked younger than the other but they were both older than Alex and Harry, in their late twenties.

"Well, I'm Harry and this is Alex," Harry spoke.

"Nice to meet you two," Alex said.

"Ah, an American?" Finn asked. She nodded. "Never meet one before." Alex looked puzzled.

"Never meet an American?" She asked.

"Oh, no I was referring to a pretty lady such as yourself." Lucas winked. She blushed but casually dismissed the compliment.

This is going to be fun, Harry thought.
