Skye's P.O.V.

A pile of clothes is strewn across my white duvet and April lays sprawled across them, her eyes shut and her tangled red hair spread out.

"This is so exhausting," she complains, throwing a skirt across the room, " why couldn't he just tell us where he was taking you? Then it wouldn't be so hard to choose your clothes!"

"I don't think it really matters what I wear," I sigh, sitting down on the bed next to her, "I actually don't care what I look like, because you know what? I don't like Jamie. You seem to have forgotten that, April."

"Oh come on! I'm just trying to make this special, okay?" she says, rolling over onto her stomach and looking up at me sadly.

"But I don't! I don't want this to be special, I want it to be nothing at all! I don't want to be with him, and I don't want anything to do with him!" I snap, kicking my heels against the mattress, " I hate Jamie Baker, he is the most horrible boy I have ever met."

"Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry," April admits, sitting up and leaning on my shoulder, "you wear whatever you want Skye. I'm not going to make you wear something you don't want to."

"Thanks, April," I smile at her, and stand up, walking over to my closet and pulling out a pair of baggy grey cargo shorts.

"This is what I'm going to wear!" I say proudly, holding them up. April groans.

"Seriously? Fine, fine... but cargo shorts?" she groans, sliding off the bed in despair of my fashion sense.

"I'll wear a nice shirt... how about this black singlet? Goes with the shorts," I suggest, holding up a black spaghetti strap singlet. April holds up two thumbs up from her slouched, upside down position on the floor. Her bare feet are poking up in the air, her face is red from all the blood rushing to her head and her blue pleated school skirt is showing off her dark pink panties. She looks ridiculous.

Leo chooses that exact moment to come into the room and April squeals, trying to flip herself the right way up and cover up her panties at the same time. She ends up sitting on the ground with her hands crushed underneath her butt. Leo's face turns bright red and he quickly backs out of the room, yelling apologies at her as he goes. I burst out laughing and April scowls at me, pulling her hands out from underneath her bum.

"That was so not funny," she mutters, her face still pink underneath the smattering of freckles across her nose.

"Yes it was!" I wheeze, trying to get my breath back, "he is so in love with you."

"What? Are you crazy, what are you talking about?" April exclaims, crossing her arms over her chest, "Leo doesn't like me! That's the stupidest thing I ever heard!"

"No, it's not. If you were any other girl he wouldn't even consider apologising," I explained, putting my hands on my hips, "he obviously cares about you enough that he doesn't want you to feel bad. And did you notice, he was almost as embarrassed as you were! Of course he likes you, April!"

"He was only embarrassed because looking at me is like looking at a little kid," she sighs, gesturing towards her flat chest and thin hips.

"You don't look like a little kid, you're slender, and it's beautiful," I say, repeating words I've said to her over and over again.

"Whatever. Why would a guy like Leo be interested in a girl like me, anyway?" she says dejectedly, picking at a hole in her white school blouse sleeve, "he can get any girl he wants, you know that!"
