"You could reconsider my offer on lunch?"

I sighed softly as I slammed my locker shut, revealing the tall blond boy behind it. I chuckled a little and shook my head. "I don't fuck around for fun with people." I sighed.

He chuckled a little and shook his head, taking that damn lip ring in his teeth. I mean if I didn't make this promise with myself, I would defiantly take up on his offer. Really, you couldn't blame me.

"We don't have to, but by the looks of it, you don't have lunch and I'm trying to be a gentleman." He smirked.

I sighed softly and shrugged. "Fine, but don't try anything on me."

The boy only shook his head, chuckling deeply and rubbing the slight scruff on his chin.

We walked side by side down the hall do the exit, neither of us saying a word. I stared straight ahead as we walked, trying my best to ignore his very obvious stare.

"I believe we've already gone over how I feel about you staring at me like that." I smirked as I pushed open the door and walked down the pavement path towards the student parking lot, Luke leading the way with a stupid smirk. I felt so self conscious around him, I felt like just him looking at me exploited me on new levels.

Luke's car was much nicer than your typical high school students barely running, rusted up, death trap of a vehicle. It was a sleek black dodge with a black interior. Fitting.

We post slipped into our respective seats and slipped on our seat belts. Luke glanced in the review mirror quickly before speeding out of the parking lot along with the bunch of other seniors taking advantage of their open lunch privileges.

"Where to, love?" He murmured as he sped down the street. I still wasn't used to the driving on the other side of the road and nearly had a heart attack as we turned into the left lane.

I shrugged as I picked at a frayed hem on my bottoms. "I dunno anything near. Surprise me." I smiled a little up at him.

I didn't know what kind of message I was getting from him. Sometimes he'd seen totally immersed with me and then other times like this he didn't say much of anything.

"Open the glove compartment," He murmured as we reached the stoplight. I furrowed my eyebrows but complied, opening at it. It was filled with some car manuals, insurance papers, and other pointless papers.

"Dig around at the bottom. There's a lighter and a box." He nodded as he took another glance towards me. I pushed all of the stuff aside as I furrowed my eyebrows. A few condoms littered the bottom along with what must be a mini bottle of vodka. I couldn't blame him I suppose. I grabbed the lighter and box, flipping it over and reading the words. Cigarettes. I huffed a little as I handed them to him. Such a turn off.

"Want one?" He asked, opening the package and pulling out a carefully wrapped blunt. A blunt. I suppose weed was better than nicotine.

I shook my head and shut the glove compartment, folding my hands in my lap. I didn't understand how he could seem so relaxed about this. Getting high between classes usually didn't go over too well, yet he seemed unfazed.

He took a long drag, it was pretty impressive, and then blew the smoke out the window that was open a few inches.

"I'm craving Maccas," He murmured as he turned onto a frontage road.

"Maccas?" I asked. It must have been some localized restaurant or something.

"McDonald's," He repeated slowly and shook his head slightly, a smirk on his face like usual. Before I knew it we were in the front of the McDonald's drive through.

"What would you like?" Luke murmured as the scratchy speaker spoke.

"Mhm, number ten and a water." I murmured as I looked a the still lit joint in his hand. I wasn't sure how I felt about being in the car with some guy I barely knew that was on the verge of getting stoned. We pulled up to the window and grabbed a ten dollar bill I kept in the back of my phone case and set it on his lap. He only stared at me before bursting into a fit a giggles. It was adorable really, I didn't even think I would ever hear him giggle.

"What?" I said softly, my cheeks heating up.

"You're not paying, I've got it." He said as he handed the cashier his card and grabbed the bag of our food and drink.

"I'm not letting you pay for me, really take it." I huffed softly and took a sip of water.

"It really has no value to me, or anywhere in this country for that matter. American currency doesn't work here, babe." He smirked as he tosses the nearly gone joint out the window and started driving back to the school.

I shook my head a little and frowned as I took a bite of my chicken nugget. They tasted different here even, less salty and smaller I think. "Next time I am then."

A lazy smile grew on his face as before taking a bite from his Big Mac. "There's going to be a next time? If you insist." He remarked. I giggled soft and didn't say anything in response. Even when high he still had a witty remark or something. I just wanted to slap that stupid smirk of his really cute face or maybe kiss him. Even I don't know he was just confusing like that.

For the next forty-five minutes we sat in the school parking lot snacking away on fries and laughing at each other. Most of the time it would be laughing at how high he was or him trying some cheesy pick up line and forgetting the rest of it mid-thought.

"We should be going soon, you're sober enough and class starts in ten." I murmured as I pulled down the bottom of my romper a little more.  He sighed a little and shrugged. "I guess, but meet me after school, yeah?"

I nodded and slipped out of his car with him and started heading in with the other returning students. They all seemed to be giving us looks. The guys glaring at Luke and the girls glaring at me.

"They've already hooked up and she hasn't even been here a full day yet." Some brunette with very prominent cleavage scoffed. "Slut."

At this point it didn't really bother me. She didn't know me, I didn't know her. We probably would never talk or see each other again and I would be of the country in a matter of months. I don't know how or why I was having this sudden boost of confidence but it was nice not being so timid to everything.

Luke and I walked down the long hallways to our lockers. Luckily his was right across the hall so I didn't get lost.

"What class do you have next?" He asked as he slid again the locker beside me. He eyes were still a little red and he was pretty relaxed, but all other indicators of his high were gone.

"Uh, some family and consumer sciences class." I shrugged a little as I grabbed my notebook and pen before shutting my locker "What about you?" I asked.

"Pottery," He murmured, shaking his head and chuckling. I raised my eyebrows, this boy couldn't be taking pottery.

"Pottery?" I repeated, slowly.

He nodded a little and rolled his eyes. "Don't fucking mention it. I have to take it."

I only giggled before shaking my head. "Have fun, I know how much you enjoy pot."

Wow paige that was probably the most corny joke ever. But Luke didn't seem to mine he just scuffed and chuckled before heading down the hall.
