Together Forever

~Hotaru POV

It's the last day of summer school and it's the same day of the Spirit Mountain Festival

"See you in school teacher!" Hiroyuki said.

"Have a good summer.

Make sure that you don't stay in summer school next year. Study hard!" I told him.

Hiroyuki has been in summer school with me for years since he never does his homework. He's a smart student, but he's just lazy.

"I can't make promises and besides I like learning here Teacher Hotaru," he gave me a big bright smile and with that he ran to catch up with his other troublemaker friends.

I couldn't tell him "see you" because I know that it won't be true.... since I won't be teaching here next year.

flashback, Earlier in the morning

"I am disappointed to hear that you're leaving us Hotaru," Principal Mamoru said, "Are you going far away?"

"Yes, I'm afraid so.

I'm going to a very far place and I don't think I can come back." I told him.

"Well then..I'm sure your students will miss you next year, especially Hiroyuki."

"I know and I'll miss them also."

He sighed and closed his eyes,

"It is your decision and I'll respect it.

I hope you find happiness where you go."

I gave him a sad smile, "I will."

I bowed and left.

I packed up the last of my belongings and started to walk home.

"Goodbye."

I have been teaching at the school near the village for four years, since I wanted to be close to the forest. And besides, I told him that I wanted to stay close. Him.

Gin had always stayed in my heart and I never forgot that summer. I never forgot all those memories, no matter how sad they were.

I still wanted to stay close. That's why I told my mom that I wanted to move in with uncle.

I told her that I wanted to help him out, but that was only part of it.

The real reason, was that I wanted to stay as close to him as possible.

I reached the little house and set my stuff down.

"I'm home" I yelled.

No answer.

My uncle is probably not home yet. Good.

I don't want him to see me before I leave.

I went to my room and made sure that all of my belongings are in boxes, all noted where they are supposed to go.

I'm really not gonna need them when I leave.

It seemed that all was set and ready to go. Now all I need is to say my goodbye.

I grabbed paper and pen and wrote down all the things that I had to.

I couldn't exactly tell my mom and uncle everything, because I knew they wouldn't believe me.

I finished the letter and went outside the house, "Goodbye to you too...".
