Chapter 4

What on earth is that?! Maybe there’s an alien invasion? Oh my good ness my head hurts. Someone tell that thing to SHUT UP. Why is it so noisy and oh… That’s the stupid alarm clock which means SCHOOL. GOSH. I felt someone shift next to me. OH MY GOD SINCE WHEN DID MY PLUSHIES MOVE ON THEIR OWN?! I turned around, expecting my teddy bear to pounce on me but thank god, it’s only Nate. Wait. Nate? What is Nate doing here? I looked around and sat up in confusion. I wasn’t in my own room. In fact, this looked like some boarding school dorm room. Suddenly yesterday’s events came rushing back to me. So Nate and I are royal wizards and this is Moonstone Academy. My alarm went off again and I realized that today would be our first day at Moonstone Academy. I gently prodded Nate awake and watched him look around in confusion. A few seconds later he remembered and looked at me with concern. What…? I was fine… oh wait, I had a major meltdown yesterday, didn’t I?

“Nate, chill, I’m fine.”

“Okay… you sure…? And get up Violet; we’ll be late if we don’t hurry.”

“Yes I’m sure and awwww fineee” I whined like a baby. I really wasn’t a morning person.

We got ready for classes and went to Lisa’s office to get our schedules and books. The hallways were creepily quiet but then again, it was only 7am in the morning. 7AM WAKING UP IN THE MORNING GOTTA BE FRESH, GOTTA GO DOWNSTAIRS. GOTTA-

“Violet, you’re spacing out.”

Oh right... haha. Don’t worry, I’m perfectly normal.

Although school starts 7.30, Nate and I had admin to settle with Lisa so we were forced to wake up earlier. I know sucks to be us. We walked into Lisa’s office and greeted her before taking a seat.

“Morning Lisa, could we have our schedules and books please?” I asked.

“Good morning Violet and Nate. Here’s your schedule and textbooks. Violet, you will have the Duchess of Elaoria in all your classes and Nate; you will have the Duke of Acelania in yours. If you need anything, you can ask them. As your guardian, my sole duty is to protect you and keep you safe from any traitors or enemies so if anyone causes you any problems, please come and tell me immediately so that I can take action.

“Nobody’s going to hurt my girlfriend on my watch.” I heard Nate mutter. I smiled at that, Nate is so protective it is really adorable. Lisa must have heard it too because she smiled and made a comment.

“Nate, that’s very sweet of you to say that but magic is very powerful.” I know Nate didn’t but I caught the undertone behind her words. I knew what she meant, which reminded me, I still have yet to tell Nate. I’ll tell him soon.  

“Alright, you both better be heading to class now, it’s already 7.35” Already?! Wow that’s fast… I decided to tell Nate about the evil one on the way to class.

“Nate, I have to tell you something…”

“What is it Vi?”

“Uhm… Nate… you know how Lisa said that magic is very powerful and about me getting hurt…?”

“Violet, you’re starting to scare me. What’s going on?”

I told him about the evil one and how she was harassing me and I just told him everything. When I was done he looked at me with this expression which, surprisingly, I couldn’t read.
