okay so I really just want to write/type in my free time.
I've written once before but I just didn't like the story so hopefully this works out better and I hope you all enjoy! (:

oh and please give me any feedback on this it would really mean a lot to me!!!

*RIIIIING RIIIIING* the sound of the school bell is heard throughout the school telling everyone to go home

Luke's pov:
I stand off to the side of the school making sure no one that knows Vanessa sees me barely coming back to school, she hates when I skip, and of course her little friends are going to tell her everything I do wrong.
I take my shades off and check my phone for any messages.

Vanessa 💖: where are u? I'm starving! let's go get something to eat pls :,(

a smirk lands on my face, I love how she is always able to put me in a good mood without even trying.
I respond "sounds good I'm on the side of the school next to the tennis courts"
as soon as I put my phone down I see a couple of my friends - Ashton, Michael, and Calum. We're all on the football team. they are coming my way laughing and joking around with each other. "Heyyyyyyyyy Luke where's your girl at?"
"Yeah Luke where's the little lady that has you sprung" they all laugh and so do I while I shake my head to make it seem like it didn't bother me.
my friend Ashton picks on me the most for being with her, you see Vanessa is a sophomore and I'm a senior so some people think it's kinda lame for me to be with her. Ashton's in her grade and last year he was kinda in love with her, but she never really noticed him, and I'm honestly grateful for that because Ashton is a lot more charming than me.

"hey Vanessa there you are" I say moving the guys to the side so she could come through, they just stare at her - in silence. they know she's stunning but won't dare to say it to my face because they know I'd be quick to get mad.
"umm hey Luke" she says with a smile and a half laugh "so I think we should just go to sonic and get something there"
"yeah that's fine", I grab a cigarette in my back pocket and as I'm about to light it up I look up and see Vanessa's face. I see anger and confusion throughout her face, "are you serious!?"
the guys just stared at me with big eyes as if telling me danger was ahead.
"what did I do?" puzzled at her reaction. everyone knew I smoked so why was she acting like that? and then it hit me - her dad died from lung cancer last year. by the time I put it back in my pocket she was gone.
"CRAP!"
"nice one buddy" Ashton said sarcastically, I was about to punch him when Calum grabbed me and told me to calm down.
"dude it was an honest mistake, you forgot, she'll understand," Michael said with a concerned look on his face I just turned around, and as I did I heard Ashton mumble "you shouldn't even be smoking" but I just ignored him
I went to go look for Vanessa but she was no where to be found.
I met her after her dad died but she use to tell me stories about her and her dad when she was younger.
there were times were she would be laughing one minute and crying the next, she use to tell me that he became a heavy smoker when her parents split up and she hated being around him at that time.
damn.
she was an open book with me and now she probably thinks I don't listen to a word she says.
I really messed up big time.
I'm was having no luck finding her so I decide to turn back and go home and apologize later but as soon as I turn back to the tennis courts to meet up with the guys I see some guy trying to talk to Vanessa...
I can feel anger growing inside me as I see Vanessa trying to get away from the guy holding on to her wrist. I can hear Vanessa from a distance, "dude seriously leave me alone!" I run over there and grab the guy and push him up against the fence
"LUKE! what are you doing?!"

I blacked out. I don't recall anything.
everyone says I hurt him, he has a broken nose and a black eye. my knuckles are cut up and bruised, but I don't remember much...
sometimes I get flashbacks, but even that is a blur. they're mostly Vanessa's voice screaming and crying, I hear her sobbing and begging me to stop but I keep going. I've never wanted to hurt somebody so bad before.
I fought a guy I didn't even know! what was going on with me?
