Sorry this is just a really short chapter because I haven't updated in a while.
_________________________________I couldn't risk being caught by anyone so I had to refrain from racing home too quickly.
It was a little hard though, because I had a bad feeling. It felt like I was being watched.
Being just about the scariest undead thing in the world didn't usually leave me with a lot of time to look over my shoulder.
I don't know. Something just felt off.
I hummed to kill my misguiding thoughts.
It was just a twenty minute walk from school but it felt like an eternity. Why are humans so slow?
My apartment was at the end of a road lined with a few old oak trees. It sure wasn't the nicest neighborhood but it would have to do on my budget. Sorry I couldn't be one of those rich...creatures.
My stomach rumbled. I haven't eaten since this morning.
As far as I knew only vampires existed but even now, a year after I was turned, I still can't bring myself to accept what I am. I like to think I'm nothing like them. If you've ever watched twilight you'd know that Edward Cullen calls himself a vegetarian, I do too.
It is a little weird to admit but I do find comfort in that.
Crunch!
I whipped around to the noise I had just heard. It sounded like someone stepping on dried leaves.
Great. Just some stupid reminder that I wouldn't be able to run free because of some stupid, pesky humans.
Great.
I didn't see anyone when I looked.
This actually annoyed me more than almost anything else. I wanted to be alone.
I walked home a lot faster now, almost breaking into a sprint as I began to see the edge of my apartment, on the second floor, from around the corner.
I could hear footsteps picking up too.
I used my speed to race the rest of the way there. I went up the stair case and away from the footsteps. I leaned against the wall of my apartment.
I breathed out.
