Welcome to day 2. The second day of spending seven hours in a building with a mouthwatering buffet at your disposal, but not being allowed to lay a finger on it. Ahhhhhhh! Shoot me now. I think as I pull up to the school.

The smells and the sound of blood being pumped throughout every student's body was almost excruciating to withstand. First period. Ok.

I walked through the door and quickly found my seat. About two minutes before the bell ran the last few students were coming into class, that's when it happened. That's when I smelled him...

Hayes came in wearing a Y&R muscle tee, black jeans, and brown suede high tops. It was strange, yesterday I could hardly smell his blood, it's scent was almost nonexistent, but now it's like his blood was the best I've ever smelled I craved it. And that was something extremely dangerous, for both of us. Every time I took a breath I wasn't sure whether to pay attention to the teacher, or drain Hayes. He smelled amazing.

In the end I was actually able to get through the lesson without killing my mid morning craving. How was I able to restrain myself? Progress. I was getting somewhere and it wasn't talking me forever to do it. Wow I should have started this "diet" months ago. At least then I could've been better prepared.

What I am transitioning to now is animal blood, I think I'd die if I took another human's life again. However the transition isn't easy. I was only turned last year, and newborn vampires need human blood to sustain them for at least the first three.

It was like living on a glass of water and bread crumbs, whereas humans were fat, juicy, sizzling, steaks. Stop! I mentally yelled at myself. My mouth was watering at the thought. It's like every single time I take a small step forward I take four gigantic steps closer to the edge of a twenty story building, where if I take in even one more breath I could come crashing down, taking everything with me. Hayes Grier will be the straw that will brake the camel's back. The rest of the day ran smoothly for the most part, but then there was Bio.

I walked into class took my seat and set by backpack down. "Alright class were doing some sort of genealogy project. Its where we would have to pierce the epidermis and place a droplet of blood on the slide so it can be tested and you can find out about your ancestors." I nearly fainted when he said that. "Ok. I'm assigning partners. Bleaker, and Gray. Mendes, and Smith, Grier, and Cruz..." I froze. It was ok when we were across the classroom, even then u wanted his blood, but now? I don't think I'll be able to control myself.

I glanced over at him, then continued looking straight ahead. Hayes was making his way over to me and again I could feel him staring at me. He sat down slowly almost unsure of his decision. He looked down for a few seconds before turning his head completely and keeping his eyes on me as if I were the most interesting and peculiar thing in the world. I continued forward. "Hi, I'm Hayes."

"Taty." I responded straight faced still refusing to look at him.

"Ok class you each have a pair of needles next to your slides, now very carefully I was you to just prick the tip of your finger and let a drop fall onto your slides." I cringed when the teacher, Mr. Douglas I think his name was, said that. The class followed instruction and I instantly felt lightheaded. I can take this. But it's the only way I'll get better.

Suddenly I felt this urge to feed I looked up at Hayes, that's when I saw him picking up the needle. I won't be able to help myself. He brought the needle to the tip of his finger. I can't let this happen. I grabbed his wrist took the needle out of his hand and placed it out of his reach then walked out of the class.

I took a few steps down the hallway before sitting down with by back against the lockers. I heard a classroom door opening.

"Taty?" A boy asked, I soon realized it was Hayes. He shouldn't have come here, if only he knew how dangerous it was for him to be here.

"What do you want?" I asked rudely as he reached me.

"Hmm. Not a fan of blood I see. Well, at least that rules out you being a vampire." He joked taking a seat next to me. I'm sure you could see why I wouldn't take so well to his humor.

"Listen Hayes I need you to promise me something."

"Well, tell me what it is first."

"I need you to promise to stay away from me."

"Woah, where did this come from? Was it something I said?"

"No Hayes, you may remember this but I won't be surprised if you don't but there was one time, a few years ago when we used to be friends. And I'm doing this because you were a very kind and accepting person from what I can remember. You have to stay away from me, unless you want to get hurt. I'm only going to say this one more time. Stay away Hayes. It's for your own good." Just as I finished up my speech the bell rang and I got up leaving a very confused and conflicted Hayes in my wake.
