It had been weeks since either Camila or Lauren had sought to contact the other. Weeks where every single day Cara heard a new thing about Camila. A new habit, or favorite food, or special moment with Lauren. It had been weeks since Cara had seen Lauren happy. Cara didn't know what to do. By this time, Cara and Lauren were in Milan for a festival of some sort, and even Normani's new company hadn't brought Lauren's spirits up.
It had been weeks where every magazine or TV channel Camila looked at had Lauren's face plastered all over it. Weeks where Sofi wouldn't stop talking about Lauren. Weeks where Lauren's long shirts no longer smelt like her. Weeks where Miami no longer felt like home. For Camila, this was the longest time she had gone on without her best friend, and things started to spiral for her.
All of a sudden she felt like she was trapped back in school. Alejandro, her papi, was constantly out looking for work. Her mother, Sinu took care of Sofi, and the other part of the time took care of their old neighbour, especially when it came to grocery shopping or crossing the road. Sometimes Camila would take on the task of helping poor Ms. Weathersby, but then she realized, everyone had made their own schedule without Camila.
Her family had gotten so used to not having Camila there that sometimes they didn't see how lonely she felt. And she guessed that some of it was her fault. Even when she was back home, she was constantly out with Lauren, or in with Lauren, or whatever... with Lauren. And now in the absence of Lauren even Camila's daily routine seemed to be falling under. She could no longer skip out on setting alarms, because Lauren wasn't there to wake her up. She could no longer just call out for Pizza to be ordered, because there was no longer a Lauren to have already have ordered it.
Camila's life felt empty. And she struggled to fill it up.
On cue, Ally and Dinah stopped by to visit Camila. Immediately Camila felt more comfortable. Like her home had become Fifth Harmony.
"Do you notice anything off about Karla?" A worried Sinu asked Dinah, in soft whispers from in the kitchen
Dinah shrugged "I guess she's just missing Lauren."
Sinu asked. "And what about Normani?"
"They're working right now." Was all Dinah said.
Immediately Sinu got worried. "What do you mean working? Is there something about Fifth Harmony that we don't know?" Sinu suggested as she poked at the idea of Fifth Harmony disbanding.
"No, no don't worry," Dinah sighed. "We're not breaking apart. They just are taking on a little more."
"Oh," Sinu said. "It's just when you said Normani..." She trialed off as if she knew something about Lauren.
"Why would Lauren be away from Camila though..." Dinah poked aiming to get a reaction from Sinu. "I mean they do spend every break together."
"Maybe it's important to Lauren." Sinu waved it off. "But I do wish they would at least communicate. It's tearing both girls apart. You can see it in her eyes."
"In Camila's eyes?"
"In Lauren's. In all the magazines. She isn't happy."
Dinah shrugged. "I mean, with eyes like hers, no one makes her pose in any way but to accent them."
"Eyes like whose?" Ally walked in accompanied by Camila.
"Mija, I'm going to pick up some groceries for us and Ms. Weathersby ok? I'll be home in an hour." Sinu said quickly changing the topic. " Why don't you and the girls take Sofi to the park?"
