It was looking at me, studying me, and watching my actions. Copying and learning
So as I sit in the cell, the 'thing' examining me I start to wonder how I'm going to get out of the place.
That was 7 years and 2 days ago. I escaped and no I didn't die as you can clearly see. I'm Luke Pegi and this is how I survive the Zombie Apocalypse.

I was in jail for a crime I didn't do. I know your probably thinking 'That's what they all say' well shut up, I'm telling the truth.
It all started when I walked into the general store at the wrong time, typical huh? But in the end I wound up in here, in cell 34, block B.
Anyway about Noonish, I started hearing screams and gunfire, but being in a jail for 3 years you get used to those noises, but this time there were different noises, un-human noises, like a growls screechy grunting noise. It was the scariest shit out there. I kind of panicked pulling my bed leg off and holding it in an offensive position as 'it' ran past my cell, it stopped and glared at me. Boiling red fiery eyes glaring at me. It made a weird noise, kind of a small grunt mixed with a 'huh?' Noise. I responded with a "F*** off!!" It screeched and walked off. Right then and there without a second thought I tried escaping, I went for the door, trying to open it with the bed leg but after a while I gave up on that, then I got my bed and kept ramming it against the door until it finally budged. I ran out over to the guardroom, in every cell all the prisoners were dead or missing.
When I got to the guards supply room I searched for some firearms or ammo. I found a Desert Eagle and a spare clip. After that I ventured out into the prison and hid in a cell, which is when it came by again but this time studying me... Watching my actions, copying them and learning from them. As soon as it left I ventured out into the main court room carefully, as I turned the corner I spotted a group of them attacking a security man, ripping at his skin and eating him. It was then I realised they were Zombies. I ran to the warden's office to search for a more powerful weapon.
I open the warden's office and broke his gun cabinet and got a Coach Gun, a double-barrel break-action shotgun with an extra 34 shells. I left the wardens office and headed for the doors, I couldn't be sure that the prison was the only place infected. So I snuck up to one of the guard towers and looked out to the fields. There were Zombies everywhere, but luckily I saw a Big Van, They were loading Prisoners up and I thought "Why not, it's a good way to get out" So I started to sneak down towards the Van when I heard Gun shot and screeching. I Shit myself and ducked down, I peaked around the corner to see zombies finishing off what was left of the survivors. I ran back up to the guard tower, found a gun and a rubber band, emptied most of its ammo, tied the elastic band around the trigger and chucked it off the wall, letting go of the rubber band. It started emptying its ammo across the fields, drawing the attention of all the zombies to start half running half walking towards the sound. I ran down to the van, which was clear of any zombies. I jumped into the van, shoved the body's out and drove.
