Shayne had only recently applied for the job a week ago. She didn't know why, though. The place had an enchanting appeal to her. Haunting, even. Although the job had low pay, was probably the most boring job ever, and was at a place that wasn't even open anymore, Shayne wanted it. Somehow, she knew it was important and that she needed to get it.

It was hers.

The first night began tomorrow for her, a good thing because she needed a lot of sleep to make up for what she missed. She had stayed up, working on her resume, worrying about the job, and anticipating her call's arrival.

Then, at 12:00 noon, the call came.

"Uh, hello? Shayne? Shayne Oakley? You applied for the night shift at BlackJack's Entertainment Center and Fun Complex, right? Well, good news! You got the job! Your hours last from midnight to dawn. Just stop by tomorrow and put on the uniform we supplied you with. It'll be in the office just off the south wing. Remember, the cybermatic on the stage is NOT to be tampered with. I recommend you leave it alone, and it'll leave you alone. It may act a little scratchy after the outbreak and...the incident three years ago. So it's best you just steer clear of the stage. If its eyes are all black and red and creepy, RUN! Haha, there's really nothing to worry about. The cybermatic is probably long since out of order. But please, just don't mess with it. Alright, talk to you tomorrow night!"

That gave Shayne something to look forward to.

So as she laid in bed, Shayne pondered what she might find at BlackJack's...

...and how much she'll regret.
