All I can think about is if Marcus will be okay, I don't know what has gotten into him, but I don't like it. I find myself staring into the depths of Mr Edward's English classroom, which is commonly known as, hell. I know I'm not paying any attention to the lesson, and so does sir.
"Miss Lee, what seems to be the problem?" Mr Edwards glared directly at me mid-sentence. Clearly I must have been pulling faces whilst thinking because staring into space is a common occurrence in this classroom so it wouldn't be deemed as unusual.
"Oh, um, nothing Sir. I was just thinking about..." Every single topic we have ever done from the past five years suddenly rushed through my head "Shakespeare." SHAKESPEARE! REALLY?! I couldn't have said a worse subject than Shakespeare. This is going to be so embarrassing. What on earth am I going to say about Shakespeare?!
"Why, what seems to be the issue about.. Shakespeare, miss Lee?" his glasses slid down his nose so his eyes were just gazing over the top of them at me. He knew I was lying, and he wasn't going to let it go any time soon.
"Well, he just writes so, um, amazing and I was just wondering if he, er, did any-" Interrupted once again, he walked up to me and smiled in a joking kind of tone.
"Cassidy, don't finish that sentence. I know you wasn't thinking about Shakespeare." For once Mr Edwards wasn't cross at me and he actually reasoned with me. He pointed at my work with one finger then smiled and turned and walked away. So like any sane person would, I didn't question it and I smiled and continued with my work. Well lack-of work anyway. The bell rung, finally! After an hour of torture in hell. I made my way to mine and Marcus's meeting spot, rushing through the crowded hallways. We normally meet in front of one of the ART classrooms, because sometimes we go in there and do some extra work. I got there but Marcus wasn't here. Marcus is always here. I asked a few people if they had seen him. I saw Emily and Emily saw me and she shouted across the hall to say Marcus was outside. Her voice sounded panicked and nervous.
"Cassidy, I'd hurry he doesn't look too good. He's been staring at the ground since break started. He wont talk to anyone and he is just acting so strange. He's at the bike sheds."
I ran to the bike sheds to see him staring at the ground still, his hair was covering his dark brown eyes."Marcus, are you.-" I noticed a tear drop roll down his cheek. "Are you crying Marcus?" I'd only seen him like this two times before, when his Nan died and when he found out his father had left him when he was little because Marcus was different.
"What's wrong?!" I screamed a little too loud, I was worried about him.
"Not what's wrong, it's what's right.." I didn't understand at first but he continued, "I met this person a very long time ago, they are perfect. Brown hair and blue eyes also they aren't your average day person, they will do anything to make things better for people and they always puts others first. they're also smart and funny which is rare to have both together." He laughed then looked down again, smiling this time.
"So what's the problem Marcus?" I asked confused, he spoke so happy yet looked so sad.
"This person doesn't know that I love them, no one knows." He stopped smiling and another tear made its way down his cheek.
"So then tell them, anyone would be lucky to have a guy like you in their life!"
"I would but it's just not easy.." he hesitated before telling me "I'm different to most people, they wont like me, we've known each other for way to long Cassidy, nothing will ever come out of it anyway."
"Marcus you don't kn-" He stopped me before I could continue, it was clear he didn't want to talk about it, so I left it... For now...Little did he know I was going to get him to pluck up the courage to ask this person out on a date!
