Broken: A Death The Kid x Reader Fanfiction

Hello readers! This one is gonna probably be shorter then the rest, solely because I'm working on a short story for a contest. I will probably post it on here after the contest is over, so I don't get disqualified. Anyway, hope you enjoy chapter 4! :D

(Drake's P.O.V)

"Mom, I'm going outside to play!" I call back to my mom as I open the front door of the house. She calls back from the kitchen, "ok, sweetie!" I run outside, with my favorite stuffed raven, Bran, in my arms.

Today was a very cloudy, and foggy day. Not a day you would want t play outside, but I liked it. I am a strange kid, liking the darkness and being alone.

I look up, after playing with my soccer ball for a half hour or so, and see a woman standing in the road, looking my way. I start to get this weird feeling about her, something I couldn't place my fingers on.

The woman gestured toward me with her hand to come to her. I was always taught not to go up to strangers, but something in me told me to go to her. I slowly started to walk to her, clutching Bran to my chest in fear.

Once I reach her she places her right hand on my shoulder. "I have been watching you for a while, Drake, and wish to have a talk with you." I give a small nod in response.

She smiles slyly, "How would you like power over others? To come with me, and run away from this place?"

I stare at her in shock for a moment before speaking, "b-but what about my mom?"

"She will be fine, promise me. She never cared much for you anyway, am I right?"

I look at my feet, tears welling up in my eyes, unable to say anything.

"I will give you the power of the raven, only if you come with me. You will be taught how to use it, and will be greatly useful. Most of all, you will be loved."

"Raven? That's my favorite animal!" I blurted out, eyes wide with surprise.

She nodded, "yes, young one." She holds out a hand to me, "take my hand, and all of your fear will go away."

I glance back at my home one last time, as I take the woman's hand. I was given my powers and my training began as a wizard.

Little did I know, I would soon hurt the ones I once loved.
