Maya walked to the front door dazed after someone rang the bell a few moments ago. When she opened the door Lucas was standing in the hallway leaning on the wall, smirking he walked into her apartment.
"Lucas," she said confused, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see if you were okay".
"I thought you were with Riley".
"I was, but then I left to come see you".
"You shouldn't have".
Things had been shaky with her and Lucas since they had gone to Texas. Riley had found out that Maya had feelings for Lucas so Riley told Lucas she loved him like a brother which broke his heart. Maya had thought Lucas had no feelings for her but then at the campfire, he grabbed her and pulled her close and was looking at her with such passion that she thought he would kiss her but then they both drew back and ever since then everything had been confused. They all knew that Riley still liked Lucas, maybe even loved him and not as a brother.
"Lucas, you should go", she said without looking at him.
"Maya, I..."
"Lucas, don't"
"I think I might like you"
"Lucas, we both know that Riley still likes you"
Maya and Lucas kept on going back and forth before Lucas left.
Later that day, Maya got a call from Riley saying, "Maya, my parents are out with Auggie right now and I'm out, so I might have told a certain someone that they could come pass your apartment right now."
The doorbell rang just after Maya hanged up. All the air in Maya's body left her as she opened the door to find the man of her dreams(literally, she dreamed about him this morning) standing there before her.
