-Victims Two, Three, and Four-
“Good morning mom.”
Megan said with a wide yawn.
“Hey, Meg, up a little late? Aren't ya?”
Her sister Marcella asked teasingly.
“What's it matter to you Marcie?
Megan replied then stuck her tongue out at her little sister. Her father looked up from his plate of eggs and with an exasperated sigh eyed both girls until they knew he did not want to hear their bickering this morning.
“Sorry.”
Both girls muttered almost incoherently.
“What do you want for breakfast girls? We have eggs or cereal.”
Their mother, Sarah, asked while pulling out a box of the girls favorite cereal.
“Cereal, please.” Megan said immediately
“Me, too mom.” Marcella chimed a second after Megan. Megan gave her sister an annoyed look before changing her answer to eggs. Finally finished with his breakfast their father addressed his daughters.
“You know winter will be here any day now and we need more firewood, would you guys like to help me outside later today?”
Megan not falling for Marcella's trick again let her little sister answer first.
“No thanks daddy, Annie said she would call me later today. Yesterday at school Max asked her if she wanted to be his girlfriend.”
Marcella replied whilst giggling madly.
“Boyfriends? I hope you don't go following her example you are only ten after all.”
Their father said raising an eyebrow.
“Don't worry daddy I don't plan to.”
Marcella said getting up and placing a quick kiss on her fathers cheek then bounding off to her room.
“You here that Sarah? Already talking about boyfriends and such next thing you know they will be bringing them home to meet the 'rents.”
“Oh don't worry to much Ryan, it's nothing serious. You remember that age.”
“Yeah, yeah whatever you say. All I know is I need to get out the shotgun soon.”
“I want to help with the firewood.”
Megan said bringing up the forgotten topic.
“Huh, oh well thank you Meggie, Go upstairs and get ready, I will be outside waiting for you.
“Okay.” Megan said exiting the table and hurrying upstairs. She hesitated at her door feeling queasy. As she opened the door she noted that the lights were off, looking into the room she felt a sense of dejavoo. Suddenly remembering snippets of her dream last night, of a her room dark and foreboding not even her nightlight had seemed much help. She had gone to the window to look curious as to why the moon wasn't shining through and saw the problem. There were trees and lots of them all close together and pressing on her window. She was confused considering the closest forest was on the very edge of the property and certainly not right by her window. She had struggled with the window and finally got it open. The branches had sprung in almost poking her eyes. She started backing away towards her door when she stopped in the middle of the room. She didn't know why but she knew someone or something malicious was behind her. Suddenly all the breath went out of her and she tried to scream, tried to awaken her parents who were only in the next room but no sound came out of her. She choked. Not wanting to tarry any longer Megan grabbed her clothes and went to the bathroom to change. Her father was already studiously chopping wood, She walked over and silently started taking the chopped wood back to the pile by the house. On her third trip back she stopped looked up to him, and asked,
