Imagine
Imagine a world,
Without having to pay to have a home,
Without having to pay for food,
Without having to pay for an education,
Without having to pay for survival.
Imagine a world,
Where troubles were left behind,
Where everyone embraced you,
Whether different religion,
Race, or Sexual preference.
Imagine a world,
Without terrorists,
Without sexists,
Without racists.
A world where we can live.
Imagine a world,
Where we didn't have to fear to be ourselves,
Where we accepted each other,
Without a second glance.
Where we could greet a neighbor,
And say 'Good afternoon.'
Where we didn't have to worry,
That they might take out a gun,
Or a bomb,
Or drugs.
We wouldn't have to worry.
We would walk alone at night,
We would walk to church,
Unafraid of anyone,
Believing that they accepted you.
But there is no world like that.
There is no kindness left.
All I see anymore is,
Terror,
Chaos,
Murder.
How can we live in a world like this?
Go about every day, as if there wasn't a threat above our heads,
All because of what we believe,
Or who we are.
I am now terrified to walk to church.
I am now scared to come out.
I am now stressed that I might be killed at school.
I am scared to live.
And I am twelve years old.
