"You're what?" Did she just say what I think she said? What is wrong with them?
"We're superheroes, but not we call ourselves Inhumans. Cause we're not really human." Noelle calmly replied.
"Inhumans? Like the people from marvel?"
"Actually we had the name first. Stan Lee is one of us, he just borrowed our name. People were not happy when the first Inhumans comic came out."
"Noelle, that's not funny, this isn't a science fiction book. And where did you come up with the Stan Lee stuff anyway?"
"I was reading one of our history books. Anyway, it's much easier to believe when you see one of us in action. Just watch." With a smile Noelle lifted her hand towards the bed sheet covering the camera and squinted. Slowly, the sheet shakily rose from the camera, following the path of Noelle's hand until it dropped into her lap. My jaw dropped. It's real. I've spent my life reading fantasy novels and now I'm in one!
"So we actually have superpowers! That's amazing! What can I do! And why do I have superpowers?"
"Well we don't know. You'll get your superpowers soon. Your family has a history of superpowers, so every baby has a tiny microchip chip in their wrist so they can monitor if and when your superpowers will come out. Though there hasn't been superpowers in your family for a while."
"Are they allowed to put do that?" I say, rubbing my wrist.
"It's necessary. They started doing after one kid almost got on the new when he discovered his powers. So after that they decided it was best to track powers and get to the kids before it happens."
"How do they know who has powers anyway, they can't put microchips in every baby in the world."
"I told you, we're Inhumans. We evolved as a separate race from regular people. So we know which families have Inhuman blood. But we're showing up less often since Inhumans are marring regular people."
"And no normal people have found out about us?"
"Well, thousands our years ago, some Inhumans made themselves gods over normal people. They were worshipped since they were powerful. Then Inhumans formed small groups to keep each other in check and to stop stuff like that from happening."
"But if you have the microchips, couldn't you get me to join you peacefully, instead of sending Jason to kidnap me?"
"You weren't supposed to have powers, but they suddenly appeared. This is rare, but not totally uncommon, so they had to get you before you hurt yourself or someone else."
"Oh, what powers will I have I have? And what can Jason and Luke do?"
"Jason has super speed, and Luke has technokinesis, he can speak to machines. We have similar powers since we're related. About you, you won't know until you powers come out."
"Okay," I say, slightly disappointed that I have to wait for my awesome superpowers.
"How many of us are there here?"
"About a hundred here in the mansion, I know it's totally like xmen. But you, me, Jason, and Luke are the only kids. Buts there are communities like this all around the world. Anyways, let go to our room, you and me are sharing!"

Noelle led me down a hallway that looked like it belonged in a hotel to a elevator which brought us to another hallway. Our room was the last on the hallway. I opened the door and stepped inside.
"Wow!" The room had light green walls and two beds with thick white comforters. We both had desks, dressers, mirrors, bookshelves, and a little reading nook by the window.
"This is amazing!"
"I know, this is our bathroom, " Noelle said, opening the door to a small bathroom with light blue walls. I opened my dresser and saw that my clothes were already there, unpacked.
"Omigosh this is so cool!" Looking out the window, I saw a sprawling lawn with a pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a soccer field. The yard ended in a large expanse of woods.
" I know, here's what it looks like from the outside." Noelle said, pulling up a picture on her laptop.
"Wow!" I said for what felt like the hundredth time. The picture showed a huge beautiful mansion with a wrought iron fence around it.
"They'll tell your parents you got a scholarship to a private boarding school. It's basically xmen."
"Then why does Jason go to our school?" Just for that year, he and Luke wanted to graduate at our school, but now that they have, they'll be here with us."
I smiled, "I think I'm going to like it here."
