Hunter x Chimera Ants

Chapter 2

"Hey, what kind of work do you do, Kite?" Gon asked.

"Biological surveying. I focus on discovering and researching new species. Oh, have you heard of the Camp Tiger?"

"Camp Tiger?" Killua and Kiyoko asked confused. Kite pulled out a laptop. 

"They can use fire. They use branches that have been ignited by lightning as live kindle." He handed them the laptop and Kiyoko peaked over Gon and Killua's shoulders to watch the video. "Other than certain Magical Beasts that walk on two legs, they're the first of their kind: animals that eat their meat cooked, not raw."

"That's amazing!" Kiyoko said, her eyes widening in amazement.

"They're really cooking it!" Killua said.

"They really are using fire!" Gon said. "Hey, what else is there?"

"Oh, yeah... You said the thing that attacked Kiyoko was a Chimera Ant?" Killua asked.

"Yes, a Chimera Ant. Under a class one quarantine. Normally, no one would be allowed near such a dangerous insect."

"Did you discover them?" Gon asked.

"No, I specialize in larger creatures. But currently, I'm investigating these insects. Something has been bothering me... But it appears that now, I'll have to move to a different location. I must make a call, but I'm not getting any reception here."

"A call?" Gon asked curiously.

"I'm working with others. Seven of us are working as a team. I guess I must await for their arrival. Once they're here, I'll introduce you. They're amateurs, but they're still skilled Hunters." Four people approached them. "Ah, speak of the devil." Kite stood up, and Kiyoko and Killua did the same.

"Kite, who are these kids?" the girl asked.

"My friends. They dropped by for a visit on their travels."

"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you all the way out here. I'm Spinner Clow," the girl introduced. "Call me Spin! Nice to meet you." She held out her hand.

"I'm Kiyoko... Kiyoko Murakami." The girls bubble popped as she gaped at Kiyoko.

"You mean... You're Asami's kid? Wait... Murakami? Are you apart of the famous family of assassins, or are you Asami's daughter?"

"Both. It's nice to meet you. Also, I quit being an assassin." She shook Spin's hand.

"Seriously?" they all asked shocked.

"I'm Gon Freecss."

"Freecss... Wait, is this..."

"Yes, Ging's son," Kite said.

"Really?!"

"And you? Not you, too?" one off the guys asked pointing at Killua.

"No, not me. My name is Killua Zoldyck." They all flinched back a bit.

"Zoldyck..."

"Um, forgive me if I'm wrong, but are you part of the famous family of assassins?" the second girl asked.

"Yeah, but I quit. "

"Additionally, they are pro Hunters. So you should show some respect," Kite said.

"Wow!" They all sat down.

"Man, that was a shock!"

"We've been conducting biological surveys with Kite for three years, but this is the most incredible organism we've ever seen!"

"Yeah, no kidding...," the bear guy said. "I don't think we finished our introductions. I'm Monta Yuras. But call me Mon."

"Nice to meet you, Mon," Gon and Kiyoko said.
