It's almost 1 in the evening and Kenarah is still laying in her queen sized bed with her Paris themed comforter covering her yellow soft skin. The sun begins to shine through her purple curtains which causes her to wake up. She rubs her eyes and then just began to lie there so the rest of her body can wake up too. After laying there for over five minutes, she reached over to grab her phone off of her night stand that sat beside her bed. She looked at the time and let out a small groan. It is Saturday and she really wished she could have stayed in bed. She is always in the house so she doesn't see why not, but she knows her mom wouldn't allow it. So she through her phone on her covers, then climbed out of bed and went to her bathroom. For a second, she stopped and stared at her reflection in her mirror while lost in her thoughts. Eventually, Kenarah cleaned her self up then headed to her closet. She didn't feel like wearing anything too fancy so she decided to throw on a white T-Shirt with her sky blue jogging suit she got from Victoria's Secret. She threw on her white converse shoes and headed back to her bathroom to fix her hair. She pulled it back into a pony tail and put her head band on to match. She grabbed her phone and headphones and headed downstairs to the kitchen. After she walked in the kitchen, she saw her mom sitting at the island eating some cereal while reading the newspaper. "Hey Mom", Kenarah said walking to the fridge. "Hey Hun! Glad you finally woke up." "Wish I could have stayed in my room, but No!", she said mumbling under her breath rolling her eyes. "What was that?" "Nothing! ", she said without hesitation. She finally closed the fridge door and had an orange juice box in one hand. She sat it on the counter. Then she grabbed two two breakfast bars out of the cabinet and a glass. She poured herself some juice and put the box back in the fridge. She sat down beside her mom. "What do you have planned today mom?", Kenarah asked before taking a bite of her first breakfast bar. "Nothing today. Since I don't have to work today, I'm just going to sit in for the day. How about you?", she said while looking away from the newspaper to look at her daughter. "Well I was thinking about taking a walk to the park down the street, if its ok with you?", Kenarah said slowly looking away from her mom afraid of what her answer may be. Her mom is very over protective so she wouldn't be surprised if her mom said no. "Sure!" The words broke her from her thoughts. "Wait, what??", Kenarah said looking shocked. "Sure! Long as your back before dark!" "Ok I won't be long!", she said running out of the door before her mom could change her mind.
She grabbed her headphones from around her neck and plugged them into her phone. She went to her music and played comfortable by K Camp. The park was about two blocks from her house. The walk felt like it would last forever, but she finally made it. She looked at the her phone and noticed she was listening to Disrespectful by Trey Songz. She put her phone in her pocket then pulled it back out and looked at the time which is what she meant to do the first time. It was 2:25. She disregarded it and went straight towards the swings. She took the one in dead center. She noticed the swing was too low and like most kids she tried to throw it over but failed horribly. She tried consistently for five minutes and failed. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice and looked around quickly. It was that girl Kylen from school. "Hey you need help?", she said running towards me. "Yeah!", Kenarah said shyly. She stepped and watched the short girl throw the swing and flopped it over the top successfully. "Thanks!" "No problem. You're Kenarah, right!" "Yeah!", Kenarah said while sitting down. Kylen threw the other swing over and sat down next to Kenarah. They talked while swinging at the same pace. Kenarah thought Kylen was weird, but like the good weird. They would actually be really good friends. She was different from most kids at their school. After a while, they stopped talking and looked at the time and noticed it was starting to get late. "Well it's getting late and I have head home.", Kenarah said getting off of the swing. "Ok cool! By the way, I'm having a sleep over at my house next Saturday and was wondering if you would like to come?" She hesitated and said "I'll have to ask my mom, but I'll text you my answer soon." "Okay!" After their conversation, they went there separate ways and headed home.
Kenarah was running as fast as she could because it was almost dark. Luckily, she made it just in time. She walked through the door and went straight to her room. She walked through her bedroom door, went to her bed, and throw herself on it messing up the covers. Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door, but knew who it was immediately. She responded right away, "Come in Mom!" Her mom walks through the door with dinner. "Here's some food!", she said with a soft voice. "Thanks mom." While eating, her mom broke the silence. "So how was the park?"

"It was cool. A girl I met at school came and sat with me. She really cool, but weird like in a good way.", she said while slightly laughing.

"What's her name?", her mom asked with such interest in her voice.

"Kylen! By the way, I was wondering if I could go to her sleep over next Saturday?", Kenarah asked while using her peripheral vision to look at her mom so she wouldn't noticed her mean glare.

"Sure, why not! I trust your judgement on friends."

"OMG! THANKS MOM!", she said with such glee in her voice while giving her a hug. Her mom took her plates and went down stairs. For the rest of the night, her and Kylen talked all night about their plans for next Saturday.
