10 Years Later

(Continue Naomi)

Since the ten years that went by I graduated high school at just fifteen years old; I skipped a few grades. I left college at eighteen and became a cop and worked my way up to a undercover detective. Right now I was sitting at my desk doing a word search when boss said there is a problem down at the bridge. Apparently a crack head is going to jump. I grabbed my gun and things I needed and was on my way. Once at the bridge it didn't take me long to recognize the face. I tossed my hair in a ponytail took off my belt with my gun and stuff attached to it and went out on the edge of the bridge. I heard my boss asked what am I doing and get back here but I need to save this person. I sat down next to her and I came face to face with Sam again for the first time in ten long years.

Sam: Naomi is that you

Naomi: Yeah it's me what are you doing

Sam: What does it look like

Naomi: But why

Sam: Because look at me I've been on drugs the last three years my parents were murdered and I have no one or nothing so I don't have a reason to live and I know how sensitive you are so close your eyes because I'm about to jump

Naomi: Don't do this

Sam: Too late

Before I could say another word she jumped. I heard my boss behind me telling me it's over and get back here but I'm not letting it go down like that. I jumped with no hesitation and no regrets. As soon as I hit the water pain started travelling through my body but I wasn't going to let that stop me. I searched around and about a minute later I found Sam and her head hit a rock. I seen blood leaving her head and I knew we had to get her help soon before a shark finds us and we become it's dinner. Also I wasn't going to let the love of my life die in front of me. I tossed her on my back and swam to shore as fast as I could once we were finally out of the water I heard people clapping and cheering. I started pumping on her chest and giving her CPR and before I knew it she was coughing up water. I took her into a hug as paramedics came down to help us and see if we were okay.
