Samantha woke up the next morning hoping that the incident of last night was just a bad dream. A nightmare but she realised there was no dream when she saw Derek curled up on her couch opposite her bed. She simply walked passed him to the bathroom, freshened up and went to the kitchen
The smell of strong coffee woke Derek up, he realised he had slept longer than Sammy did. He had hoped to wake up earlier than her and prepare breakfast while she was still in bed but that didn't happen. He really had issues in being the romantic or least of all caring type.
"What are you doing Derek, wasn't it enough that you hurt her last night, now it's difficult for u to treat her right?!". He sighed
Derek walked down to the kitchen and saw Sammy all dressed up having breakfast. He walked towards her and gives her a warm hug "morning honey" but Samantha flinched and continued with her breakfast
Derek felt frustrated, he wasn't the type to beg a girl but after last night he felt so guilty that he believed he deserved her cold attitude
"I won't let you behave this way to me Samantha. I'm truly sorry and I won't let you stay mad at me"
Samantha shook her head, after what she saw last night she knew fully well that Derek would never really love her and his words meant nothing "if you are truly sorry then prove it" she said in a loud voice as tears formed in her eyes
He felt satisfied that she finally spoke to him
"Yea Sammy let it out. Scream at me, punch me, say how much I disgust you! But please don't stay silent. The guilt of yesterday is killing me enough.'
Samantha walked out of the house, she needed to think and stay away from all of "Derek testosterone". She needed to clear her head. She Punched Dave's number on her mobile and called him
Later that day, Samantha met up with Dave at a bar
"Sammy you look quite distressed, you can talk to me whatever the matter is"
"Thanks Dave for your concern but I rather not trouble you with my problems"
Dave moved closer to her and held her hands "what are friends for, relationship issues right?"
"Sammy I can be more than a friend to you, I'm here for you, I love you Samantha. You don't have to deal with any douche bag who doesn't treat you well" Dave hugged her
"Let me take care of you" he whispered in her ears
Sammy kissed Dave slightly on the lips
"Oh Dave! Its so nice for you yo say these stuffs but I'll be fine with my boo. These stuffs happen a lot
Dave gave her the "I understand but I'll still be here waiting for you" look
She strangely felt safe with Dave but she felt so tired that she needed to go back home
Samantha entered her room and was taken aback.
There were small candles and flowers, a sparkle in her room that wasn't there before.
It was love
Derek's love.
Sammy stood still admiring the adornment of her room but got distracted as the windows to her room opened
Samantha walked towards the window to close it
To her dismay, Derek was standing out there in the cold night but what surprised Sammy the most was the fact that he wasn't alone
The sound of violin and melodious voices interrupted the whistling birds
She began to wonder if her eyes were failing her
Derek was giving her a serenade, it was the first time and it was so beautiful
Emotions welled up in Sammy's chest as tears began to roll down her cheeks
Sammy felt so excited,she ran downstairs to meet him and kissed him passionately
"I'm sorry" he said
"Derek I've been there a few times too and I know you love me despite all. Just promise me that this will be the last time you will hurt me"
Derek looked deeply into Sammy eyes which were the only source of light that moment "I promise", he said
