Chapter 18: BG (The Secret Spot)

"Hello Jieun." 

I was looking at the snacks area in the convenience store, when I heard a familiar yet unfamiliar voice behind me. 

"Oh hey, Jinyoung right? How have you been?! I haven't seen you in ages." I smiled widely at the guy whom I met at the arcade weeks/months ago. 

"Yeah, your number didn't seem to be working." 

My eyes widen, I remembered that I gave him a fake number. So I just stood there awkwardly, knowing the truth. 

"Oh yeah, I broke my sim the day after unfortunately. Sorry about that." I didn't like lying, but something felt a little...off with him. 

"Oh well, are you going home after getting your Nimo Crisps? Let me escort you." 

...

"Sure." I replied.

"Can I have your new number?" He asked me, whilst we were walking to the residential area that I lied that I lived in. 

"I still need to get a sim, sorry. I'll try to contact you when I get one." I said, walking a little faster so the day could end. 

"Okay, well let me write down my number then." He took out a notepad and wrote his number and name under it. 

I took it, smiling, but stopped in my tracks once I read it. 

"Jinyoung...Can I ask you something?" 

"Sure!" He grinned. 

"How did you know I was at the shop to buy Nimo Crisps...?" I stared at his eyes, waiting for an answer. 

His smile faded. 

"What do you mean? You had it in your basket." He tried lying again, his smiles made me want to puke.

"No...I didn't." I took a step towards him, hoping that I was scaring him. "Lying is bad...Hyunwoo." I held up the note he gave me, he wrote Hyunwoo instead of Jinyoung. 

He looked at the note and back at my face, he tried to keep a straight face but I could see the sweat beading from his forehead. 

I threw the note at his face (lame ik) and ran away as fan as can. I could hear him running after me, shouting my name. 

I can't go to the dorm, he'll know where I live. He'll find the guys.

I decided to go to the second place I was most familiar with (apart from the Pledis building). The park. 

I know what you're thinking, 'In all horror movies, the girl gets killed in dark parks' or 'the girl gets raped in a park at night'. But as I said, I was TOTALLY familiar with this park, I practically own it.

I used the last of my strength to run faster round the bend so that I would get out of eye sight for a moment, then jumped into a bush on the side. I waited silently as he continued running down the park path. 

Laughing to myself, I proceeded to crawl towards the secret spot I found on my first visit to this park. 

Then, I heard a noise. I stopped moving and made sure not to blink so I could see what was there. 

The only other person who knew of my secret spot was the guy who was with me that day when I discovered it. _____.

"Oh thank god, it's you!" Without realizing, I hugged him. 

"Woah what do you mean? What were you expecting?" ____ asked jokingly, as he sat on the second wicker chair we managed to sneak it.

I knew it was a joke, but it gave me a chance to explain and ask for help. 

I told him about the Jinyoun- I mean Hyunwoo incident. 

"That pervert! I'm gonna kill him." 

He got up from the chair but I pushed him back down again. 

"No don't! We need to think rationally." I pleaded him with my eyes. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"Just thinking." He replied.

I still had my hand casually on top of his, from when I pushed him back down and my hand naturally fell there.

 ____ POV:

If only she remembered that day. Then I'd have the confidence to kiss her right now. 

What am I saying? I can just make her confess again.

Jieun POV

I was paralyzed as he came closer, slowly. So I could stop the kiss from happening before it happened. 

But I didn't want to.

______ POV:

The sunlight was so bright that I could see it with my eyes closed. I opened my eyes slowly, squinting when I saw the light. But it was beautiful. I was laying on my back, looking up at the view from the secret spot. Through the leaves, the sun beamed down at us. 

I lightly put a strand of Jieun's hair behind her ear. She was still sleeping. 

Yesterday's events flashed in my mind. I couldn't help but smile. Then I couldn't help but wave my arms about in delight. 

"What are you doing?" 

I stopped and looked down at Jieun. She was looking up at me, smiling. 

"Nothing. Just celebrating." I laid back down next to her.
