I woke up on the cold pavement, my head aching. I hadn't any idea what time it was, and if anyone had noticed that I was gone. As I attempted to stand up, my legs quivered and I fell to my knees. I was afraid that I would pass out again if I tried to walk, so I sat down next to the brick wall and went to grab my phone. I reached into my pocket, but it wasn't there.
"Shit, he must've taken my phone." I thought aloud. How was I supposed to call someone for help, I couldn't call the cops, my friends, or family. I was trapped, at least until I could walk. I could just try shouting, maybe someone would hear me. "Someone, I need help! Please, someone! Help me!" No use, nobody could hear me from out here. If the party was still going on, the music would be too loud.
I had decided that I would have to try and get up again. I took a deep breath and boosted myself off the ground, with help from the wall. I started to feel light headed, but I kept moving. I used all of my strength not to fall back down. After walking for a little, I got more used to it. Even though I was moving I seemed to be gaining back my strength, and it became a lot easier.
I had finally reached the house, and by the look of it the party was over. I moaned, and prayed that someone would still be home. I stumbled up to the front door, and knocked slowly. It took awhile for someone to come to the door, which worried me, but a woman finally opened and frowned.
"Oh my goodness, what happened dear?" The woman questioned.
"Please, I was mugged, I need help. I'm Jacob's friend." The woman helped me into the house and sat me down on her couch.
"Please relax, I'll grab you some hot chocolate, and you can tell me what happened. Ok?"
"Yes, thank you ma'am."
"You can call me Deb." Deb smiled at me and walked into the kitchen. After a few minutes, she came back with a steamy hot chocolate in a Christmas styled cup. I smiled at her softly while taking small sips. "I'm Jacob's aunt, his parents are on a trip in Europe for work."
"Where's Jacob, and my friend Cindy and I came here together. Does she know that I was gone?" I looked at Deb with concerned eyes.
"Yes, infact they both went out to look for you. I stayed here just in case you came back. Which obviously was a good idea. Won't you tell me what happened dear, I've called them and they're on their way back right now."
"That's good to hear, thank you again."
"It's no problem." I could tell that Deb wanted me to get on with what had happened.
"Well, I was just at the party. I needed to go outside for a breather, because I had gotten..." I hesitated, "a little overwhelmed. I went outside and walked to a small alley, which I know is really stupid of me. A man came up to me and held out a gun, demanding my money. He hit me in the side of the head with his gun, and I was out cold. Next thing I know I'm lying on the hard ground, and now I'm here." I hadn't noticed until the end, but I had hot tears pouring down my face.
"I'm so sorry dear, if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know." She pulled me into a semi-awkward hug, but I didn't refuse.
"Lia!" I heard Cindy shout as she slammed open the front door. "Oh my God, I was so worried about you." She gasped and pointed at me.
"What, what happened?" I asked.
"You're head, the side of it is covered in blood. Lia, what happened?" As Cindy shrieked, Deb turned my head to look at my wound and mumbled under her breath.
"I'm calling an ambulance, someone grab her a towel."
I felt the side of my head, and when I drew my fingers from my wound I gagged. My fingers were covered in thick, dark, red blood. I started to feel light headed again, and like before I fell unconscious.
