I gasped for as I opened my eyes to loud noises and people talking.
"She's awake!" Called a man with a white jacket. Where was I? I panicked, remembering what had just happened. Before I knew it long blood curdling screams left my mouth. "Calm down ma'am, we're just trying to help."
Then I heard a familiar voice. "It's okay Lia, everything is okay." Mom, and she looked normal. I sighed in relief as my mom wiped the tears and sweat from my face.
"Mom, it was horrible. It felt so real. And you, oh God it was just horrible." More tears streamed down my cheeks.
"I know, it's okay. Just take deep breathes."
"Mom?"
"Yes dear."
"Where am I?"
"We're at the hospital, you got some minor damage to your brain, and the doctors are checking it out. Do you remember what happened," she didn't let me answer, "You got hit in the head with a gun, and then you fainted at Jacob's house."
"Well is Cindy here?"
"Um, she was, but her mom called and demanded that she come home. You know how her mom is."
"Yeah, I guess. Mom, it was horrible." I said in a much calmer voice.
"I know honey, just try to forget it."
"I can't mom, I don't think I ever will be able to." I could tell my mom wanted to change the subject so I dropped the 'wetting myself' dream thing. I couldn't believe how real it felt, I swear I was actually there. I probably sound crazy, but I could feel that thing hit me. You can't feel pain in dreams, can you? I was so afraid. Maybe I should see someone, my dreams are way out of control. Maybe this dream was so bad because I hit my head. That would make sense, but what do I know. I probably just had to rest. I was about to fall back asleep when I remembered where I was. "Mom?"
"Yes dear." My mom said, while placing down a cup of ice cold water.
"When can I leave?" I winced at the pain from my head.
"Tonight, we'll leave in a couple of hours, so you'll be able to sleep in your own bed."
"Okay, thanks mom." I said taking a sip of the water.

On our way home, I couldn't stop gently rubbing my fingers across the gash on my head. It was weird, there would be moments that it was unbearable pain, but sometimes I couldn't even feel it. I still couldn't think straight. Was I the only one dealing with such vivid dreams? No, there must be at least one other person who has this 'condition'. Maybe I should do some research. I laughed out loud. No, that's too much work.
"What's so funny?" My mom chuckled.
"Nothing, I was just thinking." My mom looked at me and rolled her eyes, letting a slight smile leave her lips. "Hey mom?"
"Yes baby?"
"Have you been in the basement lately?" She glanced at me confused.
"Well, yeah."
"Have you ever noticed anything strange, or off?"
"Lia, what on earth are you talking about? It's a basement, nothing more."
"I was curious, that's all."
The rest of the car ride was silent, I think mom tried start a conversation but every time she opened her mouth to speak she would shake her head and sigh. I was glad though because I was too into my thoughts to talk to my mom. Before I knew it we had pulled into the driveway of our house. My mom opened her car door and started walking to the front door, I just stared at her walk away. My mom has the potential to be very pretty, but she doesn't take good enough care of herself so she ends up looking tired all the time. She turns around before opening the door and waves at me to follow her since I hadn't left the car yet. I hopped out and followed her through the door.
"You want something to eat?" My mom asks while putting her purse down.
"No thanks, I think I'm going to go to bed, I'm exhausted."
"Ok honey, sleep tight. Love you."
"Love you too." I walk up the stairs to my bedroom and close the door behind me. I take some painkillers and drink a whole cup of water. I'm way too tired to take a shower, even though I desperately need one. My head is still pounding but I've gotten more used to it now . I put on some really warm and fuzzy pajamas and slip into bed. Before I know it I'm fast asleep.
