Chapter 8 : What just happened!?

Chapter 8

Riker POV

After lunch, I grabbed Lexi's hand, and pulled her up to my room.

"Could we talk for a moment?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"I'm sorry for earlier."

"Oh..."

"Gosh, Lexi..."

"What?"

"Nothing..."

Wrong. It is something. I can't stand not being her boyfriend.

"Riker, please tell me."

"I just miss you, ok?"

"You miss me? I'm right here!"

"No. I miss the old you. The you that wanted to go out with me..."

I felt my cheeks heat up, and the tears started to form in my eyes. I looked away from Lexi.

"Riker, I'm sorry."

I felt her hand on my shoulder.

"Riker?"

"What?"

"I'm really tired."

"You should get some sleep then."

I pulled back the covers on my bed, and motioned for Lexi to get in. After she got in my bed, I left my room.

I was having a mental fight with myself. I kind of wanted to tell Lexi that I couldn't let her stay with me. It would be extremely hard to handle her being here, if I couldn't date her. But the other half of me totally wanted her here. I loved her! But why won't she be my girlfriend!?

Later...

Riker POV

A few hours after dinner, I had taken a shower. I came back to my room, and Lexi was standing by the window. I couldn't help myself. I walked over to her, and put my arms around her.

"Riker!?"

"Yeah?"

"You scared me!"

"Sorry. What are you doing?"

"Staring at the rain."

"Oh... Why?"

"I don't know... Just thinking, I guess..."

"Care to share?"

Lexi pulled away from me, and sat down on the edge of my bed.

"I was thinking about us, Riker."

"Us?"

"Yeah."

"What about us?"

"I mean... Us as a couple, which we're not anymore..."

"Oh..."

"I don't know... I guess... I don't know what I want."

"Um... What do you want me to say?"

Lexi broke into tears. A part of me felt like it was my fault.

"Lexi. I'm sorry. If you want to be my girlfriend again, I'm all for it! I love you, and that's what I want."

"I just... I don't know, Riker!"

I sighed.

"Lexi, come here."
