Chapter 14

The next day...

Riker POV

"Lexi, my mom says that your mom is on the phone," I said to Lexi, walking into my bedroom.

"Where's your mom?"

"Downstairs."

Lexi went downstairs. I sat on my bed, wondering why her mom was calling. I just hoped it wasn't anything bad, like they decided not to move, and Lexi had to go back. We just got back together, and I can't lose her again!

"Riker?"

Lexi sat down next to me. That's not a good tone of voice. What's happening!?

"Y-yeah?"

"Um... So my parents bought a house."

"Yeah...? And?"

"AND I LIVE NEXT DOOR!"

"What!?"

"They bought the house next door!"

"Really!?"

"Yeah! They're flying down tonight, and the movers are bringing everything today!"

"Lexi, that's fantastic!"

"I know!"

Lexi wrapped her arms around me, and I did the same.

"Riker."

"What?"

"I missed you. Like being your girlfriend."

"I missed you too."

Lexi pulled away from me suddenly.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing..."

I raised my eyebrows. It was obviously something.

"Lexi, seriously. What is it?"

"Nothing."

"Lexi."

"I'm going to go take a shower."

Lexi grabbed her clothes, and left.

I thought everything was perfect. We're together again, and she's my next door neighbor. What could possibly be wrong?

I went downstairs, and sat in the kitchen. I rested my head on my hand, and stared off into nowhere. I was trying to think of what happened with Lexi...

"Riker? Is everything ok?" My mom asked.

"Yeah..." I said, sighing.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah... Lexi's just being... weird."

"Oh... Do you think something's wrong?"

"If you're implying the question, is she going to kill herself, I don't think so. She's just being weird. And I can't imagine why. I thought everything was perfect..."

"Did you ask her about it?"

"Yeah... But she didn't want to tell me."

"Well... She's been through a lot lately. She might just need some time."

"Yeah... I'm just tired of waiting."

Later...

Riker POV

I went up to my room, and found Lexi sitting on my bed. I walked in, and closed the door.

"Lexi, we need to talk."

"About?"

"You know what."

Lexi was avoiding my eyes.

"Lexi, please. If something's wrong, I need you to tell me."

"I know..."

"Well then please tell me."

"Riker... just not yet, ok?"

"Oh my gosh!"

"What?"

"Lexi, I've given you so much time! I've waited so long for you to be my girlfriend again! Why can't you just tell me? I thought you trusted me!"

"Riker-"

"If you don't trust me enough to tell me what's wrong, then maybe we shouldn't be together after all. I'm sorry it didn't work out with Jason. I hope you like your new house."

I walked out of my bedroom, and went downstairs. I ran out the back door as tears came down my face. Why can't everything go right for once!?

A/N : I know I said I'd finished this story today, but I was busy with video editing for YouTube. I was going to write chapters after that, but then my family decided to decorate for Christmas. So I was going to write after that, but then my dad was just being annoying, and was trying to get me in trouble, and argued about everything I said. It was all just really bad, and I'm not having a good day. I wrote this chapter to at least give you all something, and explain. But I don't know when I'll update either of my stories next... Sorry... ~Kylie
